Urban Progressive Privilege: Sign O The Times

The Strib finally hired a new editorial cartoonist to replace the worthless and unlamented Steve Sack.

It’s Mike Thompson.

And he’s brought a new sound to Minneapolis.

No, not the popping of the Glock full-auto conversion.

It’s the wailing and gnashing of entitled, plush-bottom, White progressive Minneapolis Yoo-hoos losing their spit over being lampooned by an editorial cartoonist.

They have no frame of reference. Modern MSM editorial cartoons have all the intellectual diversity of The Colbert Show or NPR.

So the calls for “canceling” Thompson have already started.

It’ll be interesting to see if Thompson is forced to repent of his sins.

So apparently the right to quiet is trumped by someone else’s religious beliefs being forced on everyone. No better than religious extremist judges taking away the right of women to manage their own lives. Both issues based in the same problem: apparently we do not have the right to be free of forced religious beliefs of others.

I hate to nitpick — but Berg purposely left out the other half of the cartoon

E’bunch, you need to click on the arrow in the tweet. That activates the video to show the other half of the cartoon.

I suppose one could argue that Expecting people who read a computer blog to know how to activate a computer video is somehow a form of white supremacist technological imperialism, and therefore intentionally hiding the information.

Personally, I would assume any fool looking at this blog would be capable of clicking on the arrowhead to watch the video. Guess not.

So MN AG Ellison is suing Kia to recall their cars & install more car theft resistant hardware.
When these kids & young adults can’t easily steal cars, what do you think that they are going to do instead. Go down to the park for a game of pick up basketball?
It is the madness of progressivism. They do not want the problem to be that a sizable proportion of their preferred demographic likes to steal and destroy cars, the problem is that the cars are too easy to steal.
America was never this stupid until we got government by political progressives.

Berg purposely left out the other half of the cartoon,

The jig is up. You’re on to me. I didn’t specifically call out Thompson’s bio, which was irrelevant to the point of my post, on purpose.

Because nefarious is my middle name.

    That was some Paddyboy-level goalpost-jacking, there, E-dog.

To the group: Which one of you jokers posting under the group name Emery doesn’t like my comment? The rest of you Emerys should let that Emery know that when you accuse someone of being a liar but it turns out you’re simply an idiot, the proper procedure is not to double down on insults, but to apologize.

I suppose it’s an American thing. You’ll get the hang of it eventually.

It’s a neat trick to compartmentalize being both arrogant and stupid. You gotta give Fluffy that.

ChatGFY is emulating the Otto West character in “A Fish Called Wanda.”

^ I gotta admit that I’m loathe to give up the nom d’dork, Fluffy, but ChatGFY is a worthy replacement.

Reminded me of that line… Apes don’t read philosophy. Wanda : Yes they do, Otto. They just don’t understand it.

“Now let me correct you on a couple of things, OK? Aristotle was not Belgian. The central message of Buddhism is not “Every man for himself.” And the London Underground is not a political movement. Those are all mistakes, Fluffy. I looked them up.”

    Biden announced his 2024 campaign.

If the Republicans nominate a center-right, suburban-attractive candidate like New Hampshire Governor Sununu or Virginia Governor Youngkin, then the Republicans will have an excellent chance of winning the presidency, adding seats in the Senate, and bolstering their House majority. Big money Republican contributors understand this, and they also want power, so there will be large forces at play to make the Republicans competitive in 2024 from the top of the ticket down.

If the Republicans show up in the summer of 2024 displaying center-right unity, they will break the Democrats’ confidence before the fall campaign even begins. If Biden’s age becomes the issue or Kamala Harris’s fitness to succeed becomes an issue, then the Democrats will be swimming in the stew of mixed messages.

I have to admit that the news of a new Strib editorial cartoonist underwhelmed me. My expectations were so low after what we’ve experienced for so long that I almost rolled right by the cartoon the other day. So, chalk up a little cognitive dissonance – but I’ll at least read the next few to see if this is a trend or a blind pig finding a truffle.

The reaction from the faithful readers may be especially entertaining. The editor who hired Thompson may join the marketing exec who hired Mulvaney as being the least aware of the “brand”.

NW, ha! Love watching Bud and Maybeline get destroyed. More… faster… And maybe, just maybe, women are getting wise that Big Trans are undoing ALL the gains feminist and suffragette movements achieved. Just maybe…

Other than physical attractiveness and their monopoly on the bearing of children, women are at a profound disadvantage in the world. Men are stronger, have higher IQ’s on the wings of the curve, are less subject to hormonal swings, are more aggressive, and of course they do not menstruate.
If you can incubate children outside of the womb, the only real use for women is sex and ornamentation.
The ancient Greeks, despite their honoring of certain female attributes, would have gotten rid of women in a second if they did not need them to bear their children. Aristotle famously considered women to be weak, mutilated men.

Well, here we go. Some butt hurt Muslim Karens cried to the Red Star about this totally harmless cartoon. And both the rag and Mike Thompson have caved to the cancel culture mob and apologized. Another situation where I wish I could send them back to their sheet hole countries in the cargo hold of a tramp steamer, if those still exist.
