Dumbing Down

Last night on Twitter, I twote “Binders” is so Big Bird.”

This morning on Hot Air, Ed points out that Mark Halperin – no conservative tool, he – points out the same thing at greater length; we’re under three weeks to the election, and Obama is still trying to pin his hopes on sophomoric “gotchas”:

As Ed notes, it’s a sign of political exhaustion from a campaign that

…won’t run on his agenda, because he either doesn’t have one (and he certainly hasn’t published one or pushed it at either debate, choosing to attack Romney instead), or because, as Mickey Kaus writes, any honesty about his second-term agenda would cost him the election

Binders!

Big Bird!

Contraception!

Squirrel!

Bonus question:  If Obama loses – and if Alita Messinger’s similar campaign ends up falling short of flipping the legislature and bogging down both Constitutional Amendments here in Minnesota – do you suppose the Dems will re-evaluate their strategy of the past few years of going all-in for the low-information voter?

It seems axiomatic to me that the unhinged would find binders troublesome.

    Nope — it’s all they’ve got.

There’s a race pimp over at The Atlantic (see Ace of Spades for a link) who is claiming that Romney’s son Tagg is racist (as are all Repubs, as he says we are the party of white people) for wanting to do what most real men want to do almost weekly, that is bop some idiot in the nose.

    Racists. Party of white people.

Please to g*d they keep this up.

Hell, no. They’ll look for other ways to cheat and/or flat out break the law.

I’m not so sure their capable of any re-evaluation. I do think that it might be a good idea to do a welfare check on some of them on Wednesday morning; some may need to have their hangman’s noose cut from the rafters. Worse jobs I suppose.

No need for a welfare check the day after, Scott – they’ll be busy preparing their court cases and judge shopping to challenge the votes.

Obama is having a hard time defending his record because this is what Obamanomics and Obama foreign policy looks like when it works.
He has no agenda that he can talk about for an Obama second term because it will be more of the same. He is not “out of ideas”, he never had any, or at least no more than your average liberal community college poli-sci instructor.
More than anything else, Obama’s dyspeptic refusal to consider that current U.S. economic and foreign policy problems might be a result of his policies that reminds me of Carter. You would think that he might consider what he once thought would be the horrors of a McCain/Palin administration.
    Persistent high unemployment?
Terrorists attacking our embassies with impunity?
    Interminable war?
    Gauntanamo still in business?
    High deficits?
    Low economic growth?
    A growing entitlement crisis?
Carter at least had the excuse that he needed to cover his left flank — Carter had a stiff challenge from Ted Kennedy in 1980. Obama’s left flank is clear. He can’t change his policies because he literally cannot imagine that there is any other way to address the economy and foreign policy that would have better results than what he is doing.

    That’d be a big no.
