Fed Up

By Mitch Berg

Joe Doakes, formerly of Como Park, emails:

The US Attorney is prosecuting the legislator shooter. How? It is straight up murder.  There were no federal officers killed, no interstate flight, no sex trafficking or narcotics. How is it a federal case?

The US Attorney’s complaint says Boelter used GPS – which is a federal communications system – to stalk his victims.  Federal crime akin to wire fraud.

The murder counts are add-on crimes. Killed someone while using GPS.

This is a bullshit attempt to horn in, steal the limelight.  It should be a state case. Force HennCo Attorney Mary Moriarty to prosecute.

Devil’s advocate says: John Thompson wants to make sure Boelter gets competently prosecuted?

While Joe is correct on technicalities, you just know MN would find a way to let this perp go free. Fed involvement means at least one side of the law has a chance of being followed. But having a trial in MN in front of MN judges and Karen 1-12 on the jury still means guilty verdict is still only a 50/50 proposition.

I think the fact that he shot and killed DFL’ers is motivation enough for Moriarty to actually do her job, for once.

Boelter is a white Republican man. I would think Bloody Mary was eager to put the guy away.

I could be wrong, but the allegation that he’s a Republican, was hear say from a “roommate” that claimed he did, while (I believe) reading from a script. As I posted on Monday, something doesn’t look right with this whole thing.

WAY off topic but I’m leaving no stone unturned here: Toilet Problem

Had to install a water leak detection device to meet the requirements of the homeowners insurance policy. Turns out the toilet is leaking. No problem, install a new flapper. Turn the water back on at the wall valve, and the damn tank won’t fill?! (the new flapper was adjustable, which I think is overkill for a damn toilet stopper) Mess around with the adjustment a bit, cant get the tank to fill. At this point I am not realizing the water inflow is just a trickle, being focused on the damn flapper. So I give up, turn the water off at the wall valve and leave it for a few hours. Come back later, the tank is full?! Flush it, same problem, tank won’t fill, but I finally realize the inflow is just a trickle. So I turn the water off at the wall, give it an extra effort (but not enough to break it, I have known all my life ont to over-tighten things) and it seems the water is turned off to the toilet.

Come back the next morning, tank is empty, yep, got the water turned off. Turn the valve back on, water flows into the tank at full blast, fills the tank in 15 seconds or so. WTF? Flush it, and now the inflow is back to a trickle. Is the fill valve effed up? Can it work “sometimes?” Anyone have any ideas? I’m at a loss.

Boss, I don’t necessarily disagree with you but last I saw Dustin Grage, a reliable MN conservative, stated that Boelter identified as a Republican.

That’s why I added that part.

I neglected, however, to include that Boelter was LARPing as a police officer. That’s another of Bloody Mary’s targets.

I wondered the same thing as Joe did, and yes, I do conclude that the DOJ is trying to get the limelight.

Regarding the possibility that Moriarty fumbles this one, absolutely; and let’s imagine the fury of DFL voters when they realize their own girl can’t even put the murderer of their own leaders in jail. Could do a LOT of good for the state, IMO.

Kinlaw, disconnect the fill tube from the toilet and put a bucket under it; and turn it on; fill fine?

    >No
    Shut off valve is shot

Yes> re connect to toilet disconnect fill valve in toilet and turn it on; fill?

    >No
Blocked connection between tube and valve

    >Yes
    Fill valve misadjusted or malfunctioning
