In Search Of A Solution

Mere days after the Biden regime sued Texas for trying to stop illegal immigration – i.e. doing the Feds job – we see this:

Doesn’t compute?

Of course it does.

The Biden Administration is holding up the spending for the border and Ukraine because it removes the funding “Biden” wants – to process “asylum seekers” – and spends it on Border Patrol agents.

The Mexicans can (hypothetically) regulate the flow long enough to accomplish the regime accomplish its two main missions:

  • make the backlog a little more hypothetically manageable
  • create the misguided impression that “things are getting better” long enough to arrest Bidenn’s slide in the polls.

When you remember that, it all makes perfect sense. .

    From the article:

“In a press conference on Friday, [Mexican President] López Obrador called on the U.S. to approve a plan that would deploy $20 billion to Latin American and Caribbean countries, suspend the U.S. blockade of Cuba, remove all sanctions against Venezuela and grant at least 10 million Hispanics living in the U.S. the right to remain and work legally.”

And what do we get in return? Mexico lets 300,000 illegals cross into the US each month, but we get to “push back” 30,000 of them into Mexico. We keep the rest.

To Democrats, that’s like hearing Br’er Rabbit say “Don’t throw me into that briar patch.” Those are Obama’s goals on a silver platter. Why hasn’t this deal been inked already? What are Democrats waiting for?

    Two possible headlines:

    1) Biden wants Mexican help.

    2) Mexico tell Biden to “shove it”.

Which one makes the 5:30 News on ABC, CBS and NBC?

Biden’s handlers know which one makes the news and which one makes it look like he is doing something (other than importing Democrats).

Leave it to Biden to do something where he should have Mexico by the nuts and convert it to Obrador’s chance for grabbing tens of billions of dollars from the U.S.

We take in 10,000 illegals EVERY DAY. They are all coached by NGOs and religious groups to claim they are unaccompanied minors who fear persecution in their home countries and seek political asylum.

By law, anybody standing on US soil who makes that claim is automatically entitled to a hearing to determine whether the person is truly entitled to refugee status (with a free lawyer, of course). Right now, there are so many hearing dates scheduled that new arrivals are being told to report for hearing in SEVEN YEARS.

Until the hearing, you are technically not “illegal,” your status is indeterminate. If you are a legitimate refugee, then you’re entitled to reside here and get a work permit. Until it’s determined you’re NOT a legitimate refugee, you get free transportation from the border into the country and a free cell phone with data plan to check your court date. Wherever you end up, you get welfare including an EBT card for free food, free housing, a driver’s license . . . all those things that a legitimate refugee would be entitled to.

If you miss your hearing, the court can change your status. You’re now “Illegal.” If any law enforcement officer happens to find you, they can arrest you to be held for a deportation hearing (oh yes, you are entitled to another hearing to explain why you missed the first one, with another free lawyer, and to remain in the US until that second hearing occurs – but not in custody because we don’t have enough cells, you get released on your promise to appear for the second one).

If you fail to appear for that second hearing, then you’re double-secret illegal and any law enforcement officer who finds you (and works for a jurisdiction that cooperates with the immigration laws) can arrest you and turn you over to Immigration to be sent back across the border.

Whereupon you turn around and walk back in, claiming to be someone with a different name, and the game starts all over again.

How to fix it? Machine guns, attack dogs and land mines (East German method). Stop people from setting foot on US soil (Trump’s “remain in Mexico” method). Or maybe the simplest one of all – change the law.

You’re a refugee fleeing persecution in your homeland? Sorry to hear that. You don’t have to go home but you can’t stay here. Mexico is nice this time of year.

Darn it, moderation. Try again without the banned word:

The jaded cynic in me has this take on Biden’s proposed “solution” to the border: Throwing more bodies at it in the form of Border Patrol agents.

Of the proposed $25 billion budget for CBP, a mere $535 million is allocated “for border security technology at and between ports of entry”. That pencils out to 3% of the budget.

Additionally, the almost-$800 million increase over 2023 spending would includes “funds for CBP to hire an additional 350 Border Patrol Agents” and “funds to hire an additional 460 processing assistants at CBP and ICE”. It’s not immediately clear how much of the increase is allocated to the hiring of personnel, though.

Having 350 more agents is fine to ease the stress on the existing agents who have too much territory to cover. But you know what works 24/7, doesn’t get tired and overworked? A wall. Perimeter sensors. How much of the $800 million extra will pay for that?

Throwing more bodies at the problem is not an unsurprising move by the administration. But the jaded cynic in me wonders if it’s not meant to throw a bone to the CBP’s union, the National Border Patrol Council. More agents and support personnel mean more union dues and more revenue for the union, don’t they? Methinks this was part of Biden’s handlers mea culpa to the CBP for basically accusing them of whipping illegal immigrants on horseback after that infamous and erroneously-interpreted photo. Time will tell if the NBPC endorses Biden for 2024, considering they endorsed Trump in 2016 and 2020.

^ They are coached by NGOs and religious groups

This is not to disagree with Mr Jones. Everything he says is true. It’s just that it’s worse than he describes. Those NGOs and religious groups are providing food, clothing, money, (professionally printed) maps to get around, and transportation for not only the illegals but also their baggage under separate means. The Mexican border cartels are using them to ferry in fentanyl and other drugs. There’s a better than good chance that all the various law enforcement entities at or near the border are under pressure or have already been bought out. There are also photos of armed illegals who avoided the official entry points making their way past the border.

AMLO (the Mexican presidente) just wants to get in on all this. For Mexico and/or himself.

… oh, and let’s not forget that it’s the DemoCommies who are providing the money and support for these NGOs and religious groups so these illegals can be turned into reliable DemoCommie votes. And all those RINOs and country-club Republicans looking for cheap labor (and higher profits) won’t say or do a thing.

    Backs up Mr Jone’s comments

[…] Biden has created a de facto open borders regime by just “paroling” all fake asylum seekers into the country to await a hearing, which they will probably not bother showing up for, in eight years.

Plenty of time to have an Anchor Baby in eight years. Why bother with the asylum claims?
