None Dare Call It Bribery

This is the message going out to recipients of the state “Hero Pay” checks:

Tammany Hall called. They want their methodology back.

Why, it’s almost like he wants people to ponder “his” magnanimity at election time, as early voting begins.

Aaaaalmost…

UPDATE: Wait, it gets better:

  1. I’m gonna need a whole lot more than $487.45 to vote for that prick and the indian princess.

  2. Remember when the left was upset that Donald Trump got his name on those stimulus checks?

  3. That will buy y’all a weeks groceries… Unless you live in SP. 15% tax hike…wew lads, wew.

  4. Many, if not most, of the “heroes” work for the gubmint at one level or another, so ol’ Walz isn’t gonna get a lot of return on investment for this move. Not to say it doesn’t stink to high heaven….

  5. Many, if not most, of the “heroes” work for the gubmint at one level or another…

The heroes at the Center of the American Experiment and Alpha news never paused in their mission to bring the people the truth; they RISKED THEIR LIVES!!!!…will they get a Walz cheque for $400 & change?

  6. Come to think of it, *I* never stopped commenting on the state of Minnesota affairs, providing *life saving* information* even though I risked my life by digitally mingling with infected Minnesotan’s during the darkest days of the Covid plague…I need a fucking cheque too.

We set up a GoFundMe for this, but the money was confiscated and delivered to Feeding Our Future. Tough hop.

  8. I know one of those “essential workers” so critical that even in a time of plague he had to keep working so civilization would not collapse.
    His job?
    Painting Walmart exteriors.
Unfortunately, although his employer was based in MN, he lived in Wisconsin and paid Wisconsin taxes, so tough break, no hero check for him.
But at least he knows he can muscle his way into a group of barstool warmers at the American Legion and tell them about the time he had to clean up an acetone spill in a Walmart parking lock in Spearfish, South Dakota. Single handed, too. When the spill happened his men, all rookies, had abandoned him.
I told him that it must have been like a scene from Miller’s “The Naked and the Dead,” except no one was naked and no one was dead.

  9. My wife is going to get a check. I worked at the same employer during that time for less money per hour, but don’t get a check, since I was also collecting unemployment for being “under-employed.”

Nice of Minnesota to mail that check to Texas for her.

  10. OK, if the legislature never passed the bill to issue these checks, by what authority does Tailgunner Tim issue them?

  11. My colleagues and I are getting the check. Some of us are really wondering why we’re getting one- we all kept our jobs during 2020. Save the money-give it to people who are really struggling.

Some others are wondering why they aren’t getting more and why so many were considered “essential workers.” Those are the pro-union people, too. They don’t connect how the union put out a statement congratulating itself on how they got “everyone” a check and how the union really didn’t care what was essential or not, just that “they” got everyone a check.

  12. UMMP:
Ha! Those checks are not subject to MN taxes, but the feds will be getting their cut.
My nephew works at Target, so he got one. He said that about $90 was taken out.

I’m also laughing at Commandant Klink’s bull crap TV ads, claiming that he balanced the budget and “approved $1,500 tax rebate checks”. What makes me laugh even harder? That the GOP isn’t running ads calling him out on it.

  15. Wah! I want Badger Bux!
Wisconsin makes me pay quarterly taxes. Evers’ taxes are literally depressing the economy around here.
