More Victims Faster

Minneapolis pushing ahead to eliminate cops.  Look at the photo to see who’s pushing the issue.

Do any of those people look like they live in Hawthorne or Phillips?  Any of them look like they’ll be affected when cops stop patrolling dangerous neighborhoods?

Looks more like White people from affluent neighborhoods telling the city council what’s good for Black people living in desperate neighborhoods.  “Pull the cops out of those bad neighborhoods, leave the Black people to die.”

In the olden days, instead of wearing backpacks and carrying signs, they’d have been wearing sheets and carrying torches.

Joe Doakes

Big Left always sells class conflict as cultural conflict. Today’s cultural conflict is racial. But behind it, always, is affluent honkeys with (at best) white liberal guilt and, otherwise, the kind of cynicism that is dripping from every pore of the American ruling class.

Urban Progressive Privilege includes being reasonably certain that none of the policies you promote for other people will ever really affect you.

While I’m inclined to agree with this, I’ve seen reports that indicate a (large?) number of “white liberals” who live in or near the hellholes, accept them and what’s coming, and feel in some way that they deserve it. That’s where the “guilt” part comes in.

  2. Funny! On Tuesday, a media team from Miami that was apparently here to cover the Chauvin trial, was intimidated and threatened with violence, by the armed goons that have formed their own gestapo or is it Brownshirts? These days, it’s probably better to call them communists!

  3. Target had announced earlier that they would not return to their downtown Minneapolis offices until fall. And then yesterday they announced they are surrendering their City Center offices to consolidate and reassign those 3500 employees to other locations (some in Minneapolis, but also Brooklyn Park), despite having a lease that runs through 2032.

Where will the City Council find the tax base to pay for their private security?

  4. if you wonder how our elites can be so different from ordinary human beings, check this Atlantic article on the sick relationships between bourgeois parents, their children, and their private schools:
At Sidwell Friends school in DC (where Obama sent his kids, where a lot of DC media people send their kids), parents were digging up dirt on their children’s classmates to give their kids a leg up on a prized Ivy league admission.
And that is just a small part of the story of the people who are raised to think of themselves as America’s leadership class.

  5. Virtue signaling is all fun and games, jdm, until someone ends up face down on the pavement with a mob of feral black “kids” leaping into the air and landing on their head, while some empty their pockets and others live stream it on Instagram.

  6. What you say about virtue signaling is true, Doctor, but that’s not what I’m talking about. Those people would revel in their beat down as something they deserved by virtue of their whyt-ness.

When I moved here in the 90s, the downtown Minneapolis Library was one of eight US Patent repository libraries in the country. It was a big deal, since lawyers actually needed to be physically present to search the patent database.

After spending millions on a new library, that area of downtown has been allowed to deteriorate because of attitudes about race and crime. It is not safe to assume a person can transit the area without some personal conflict.

A criminal is a criminal, no matter their race, and they need to be removed from public areas. The homeless population can and should be better served somewhere other than a public library.

Making the downtown Minneapolis attractive again to tenants means making it what it once was. A clean area for business people to conduct business, not a gathering area for the homeless and social misfits.

  8. that area of downtown has been allowed to deteriorate because of attitudes about race and crime.

Uhhh . . . what the Hell? Actions cause things. “Attitudes” don’t do a damn thing. Neither does “race.”
Please read up on the English language, Emery.

  9. I haven’t been downtown for some time, but from what I read, the foyer of the Target store at 9th and Nicollet Mall has become a lobby of illegality and intimidation. Perhaps Target is voting with 7000 feet.

Yeah, I saw a video of a white guy getting beaten to a pulp and stripped to his underwear downtown last year by a pack of feral, dusky attitudes…..jfc

I’ve said it before, and it bears repeating. This is who PotAto HeAD is irl. You cannot turn this level of stupidity on and off like a light. He wakes up with this shit in his head every morning.

Guys like PotAto HeAD troll right wing comment threads because they have no life; they have no friends. They’re disturbed, and they know it, but their limited cognitive abilities do not allow them to diagnose their problem and change their lives.

I firmly believe that problem will take care of itself in a few weeks, NW. It’s no fun hanging out on a pile of rubble…no profit in it.

  12. I heard today that Target will be vacating 1M square feet of downtown office space! Who and what will fill that empty space given the prevailing fear of rioting, looting, and lawlessness?

  13. Scott – Target is vacating it’s offices in City Center, a 51-story office building that – along with LTE and Block E – is one of the biggest failures of the downtown “vision”. I’m not sure what floors Target occupied, but turning off the elevators to those floors will discourage squatters.

The height of the building may be a benefit if Minneapolis adopts the Brazilian model as seen in Rio de Janiero. An acquaintance of mine who worked for a telecomm in Rio said they never went down on the street if it could be avoided. They used helicopters to fly to business meetings between buildings in downtown. He and his family lived in a secured compound, and an armed guard drove his daughter to her private school in another secure compound.

  14. It might be a little awkward but I am thinking of referring to a certain political party exclusively as the Mr Potato Head Party.

  15. Well, the city of Minneapolis just paid off George Floyd’s family to the tune of $27 million. Floyd’s sister stated that this part of the tragedy is over. Yup! The big pay day from the white man, makes it all better and most of that money probably went to race pimping lawya, Benny Crump!
Now, if you live in Minneapolis, you can look forward to less police protection, but you’ll get to pay higher taxes, due to your white privilege. Of course, that doesn’t explain the hardships those factors have on minority families.

  16. While writing a (probably fruitless) letter to our Senators pleading with them to vote against a law that would require all nonprofits to reveal lists of donors, it struck me that the big reason I was doing so was that “Antifa” is basically a new KKK.

Sad to say, they have allies, just as the old Klan had allies back in the old “dirty” South.
