Bring The Backlash

Joe Doakes from Como Park emails:

Engineering school is not exempt from Social Justice Warriors.

Purdue is shifting from teaching engineers how to build a bridge, to teaching them how to feel about bridges.

I’m sure that will be enormously helpful when the next I-35 disaster occurs.

Joe Doakes

My new theory – and it’s so new, I haven’t even thought it out:  Trump’s presidency is entirely designed to squeeze all of Big Left’s lunacy out into public view, so the public will be so disgusted, the left will be shamed out of power forever.

But a guy can dream.

  1. They are in for a dissapointment. Engineering does not lend itself to the kind of chaotic thought processes it takes to be a SJW.

In my 30 years in controls and automation, I can count the number of leftists I encountered on one hand, and as I recall, none of them were noteworthy for anything other than their short tenures.

The ability to process “a woman can have a penis” as truth doesn’t find value when trying to tune an unstable PID loop.

  2. They’re already out of Power, Mitch. It’s time for you on the right to govern and stop blaming the left. Take responsibility.

But, let’s see, when you do, how do you answer for the Sec.State of Kansas today, Keith Kobach is his anme as I recall, well today he said that we should take action against DACA eligible people because of the fact of arrest because the state (generic) didn’t have the resources to prosecute all the cases in hand.

Think about that for a moment, Mitch Berg, supposed libertarian, the right-wing extremist, “drag everything as far to the right as possible” Sec. State hero, voter-fraud commission head, and who aligns with you politically more closely than Trump, just said we should suspend presumption of innocence because the state lacks the funds to prosecute – and remember that Kansas has a massive budget deficit caused by a massive tax cut to “grow” the economy which failed.

So, when you talk about embarrassment, exactly who should be embarrassed here. Someone who pushes back on the KKK and fascism, or someone who proposes obviating Presumption of Innocence (I capitalize it because it’s such a fundamental tenet of our Constitution). How do you reconcile that proposal with preserving liberty? Moreover, given that the right has FREQUENTLY advocated for treating prisoners a little more roughly, including Trump saying police should casually brutalize those they arrest, how can you say with a straight face that the right disagrees with Kobach’s proposal?

Embarrassed yet? If not, you certainly should be.

  3. Pen,

There are times I wonder if you are putting your comments in the right thread. This is one of them.

They’re already out of Power, Mitch. It’s time for you on the right to govern and stop blaming the left.

Non-sequitur, Pen. My remark was not about whether the left was in or out of power. Read it again.

    Take responsibility.

OK, here goes. Pen, read more carefully.

    There.

But, let’s see, when you do, how do you answer for the Sec.State of Kansas today, Keith Kobach is his anme as I recall,

    Kris Kobach.

well today he said that we should take action against DACA eligible people because of the fact of arrest because the state (generic) didn’t have the resources to prosecute all the cases in hand.

    a) I have no opinion.

    b) I have no idea what ties that story to what Joe wrote about. (BTW, this is Joe Doakes’ thread).

Think about that for a moment, Mitch Berg, supposed libertarian, the right-wing extremist, “drag everything as far to the right as possible” Sec. State hero, voter-fraud commission head, and who aligns with you politically more closely than Trump, just said we should suspend presumption of innocence

I have no idea what you’re talking about.

And that’s OK, because either do you. “Take action” <> “Suspend due process / presumption of innocence”. Perhaps you can show me something Secretary Kovach said that actually does imply any such thing.

    BTW:

because the state lacks the funds to prosecute – and remember that Kansas has a massive budget deficit caused by a massive tax cut to “grow” the economy which failed.

How are those two things in any way related?

I’ll ask, and hope you answer.

So, when you talk about embarrassment, exactly who should be embarrassed here.

You, for not only jacking the thread, but doing it in a complete logical vacuum.

Someone who pushes back on the KKK and fascism, or someone who proposes obviating Presumption of Innocence (I capitalize it because it’s such a fundamental tenet of our Constitution). How do you reconcile that proposal with preserving liberty?

I don’t. I have no idea how the concepts in the glob of word salad masquerading as the “paragraph” above are in any way related. Reconcile it? I can’t even diagram it.

Give me a clear question, and I’ll answer it.

Moreover, given that the right has FREQUENTLY advocated for treating prisoners a little more roughly,

False. Some people associated with the right have advocated it.

“Some adherents to an ideology” <> “every adherent to an ideology”.

including Trump saying police should casually brutalize those they arrest

    Got a cite on that?

, how can you say with a straight face that the right disagrees with Kobach’s proposal?

I can say with a straight face that there is no question to answer. “The Right” has no collective opinions at all, much less on a remark (absent any further context) by an obscure state official.

Embarrassed yet? If not, you certainly should be.

    Huh.

  4. BTW, Pen?

I notice you’re suspiciously silent, in a way that speaks volumes (ha ha) about this story.

What does that tell us? Hmmm?

(Can you see how annoying that particular style of argument is?)

  5. Yes, but Pen is resorting to DG poop and run tactic. Hijacking a thread with non-sequiturs and then moving on to the next thread to lather, rinse, repeat.

  6. Penigma demands that others engage in ritual denunciation of the object of his two-minute-hate-of-the-day; but Penigma, himself, has yet to sufficiently and abjectly denounce The Annexation of Schleswig-Holstein to my satisfaction. Therefore, Penigma is a Hater.

I do not answer to Haters.

  7. Pen’s writing on Purdue’s engineering school confirms my thought that he’s found a really good stash in Colorado.

  8. Peevee: WTF was that? Are you commenting with one hand while engaging in asphyxia sex in the with the other? Take that dry cleaning bag off your head, son.
