Goals?

By Mitch Berg

Joe Doakes, once of Como Park, emails:

The immigration protests are supposedly in furtherance of an objective, not just random violence. What’s the desired result? Google AI says:

ICE protesters want to end or drastically reform Immigration and Customs Enforcement, calling for an “Abolish ICE” movement due to concerns about inhumane treatment, family separations, excessive force, lack of training, and the agency’s perceived overreach, with demands including ending detention centers, protecting immigrant communities, and greater accountability for agents, sometimes pushing for redirection of funds to social services instead.

Sounds like Defund the Police.  They also wanted kinder, gentler, more sensitive law enforcement and thought the way to get it was to replace police officers with social workers.  That was First Order Thinking. But remember how Defund the Police turned out? The consequences were not as hoped.  The very communities of color they intended to protect got worse as perpetrators realized lawlessness and violence were now tolerable.

Considering the consequences before taking action is Second Order Thinking and it didn’t happen then. It’s not happening now.  Protesters and their Democrat enablers should consider the end result they desire, not just the intermediate step, lest they unleash on their communities the same lawlessness and violence which resulted from the Defund the Police movement.

Unless, of course, that IS the objective.

It’s the objective.

The DemoCommies are literally daring the Right to do something about this all.

While some Republicans and Conservatives may be willing to let the Right do what needs to be done, the rest will tch-tch on the sidelines and worry about fairness, brutality, what the DemoCommies might do in response, and whether being “like that” is really appropriate. Most will just sit frozen and complain about why we can’t go back to the way things were in the 00s or the 90s or the 80s…

The Indiana Senate Republicans are a good example. So, is Thune and the Republican Senators regarding the filibuster and the SAVE Act (Voter ID). Or closer to home, Emmer with his Chairmanship of “Congressional Somalia Caucus” he co-founded with Keith Ellison in 2015. Or Walter Hudson looking on the bright side of Somali immigration and those “good” Somalis who surely can be made to understand that Republicans are their friends.

From what I can tell, the DemoCommies continue to win by not being stopped and intimidating the weak sister moderates (of both parties).

    Here’s a little day-brightener.

Combat veterans, off-duty officers and patriotic Americans have had enough of the radical left

I’m in the “pox on both their houses” category here. Trump could have made huge progress if he’d simply told ICE to find out when illegal criminals were being released from jail, and have ICE show up to apprehend them. The left would object, yes, and then we’d ask “Tell me why you think we need more rapists/murderers/etc. in our country? Is there a shortage?”.

If “blue states” and “blue cities” obstructed it, fair enough. Document it, prosecute egregious cases, but mostly continue what you’re doing in sensible and “red” locations, and then have the BJS keep data on what happens with crime rates. Fast forward to the next election, and ask voters “How are those liberal policies working out for you? Are you grateful for the murderers, rapists, thieves, and drug dealers that your local government re-released back into your communities, or would you like a change?”.
