As The DFL…

By Mitch Berg

…votes down the proposed Inspector General’s office – not so much a “MN DOGE” as a someone empowered to go after things like systemic fraud – this happened:

They may not have been quite ready to file the next round of charges, but were forced into action Sunday when they learned one woman they are targeting had booked a sudden international flight. The FBI arrested Hibo Daar at MSP before she could board that flight to Dubai.

Court records show Daar claimed to serve 1 million meals to children while operating out of an office in a business center on East Hennepin Avenue. She collected $2.4 million in taxpayer money, but federal investigators believe her meal site, “Northside Wellness,” was fake and that she actually spent less than $2,000 on food.

By the way, the story starts with this:

When they raided a St. Paul nonprofit last week, federal investigators signaled that they aren’t finished charging new suspects in the $250 million pandemic meal fraud case known as Feeding our Future.

They certainly aren’t finished.  And the $250 Million figure is a three year old guess from US Attorney Andy Lugar.  We’re going way past that.

I don’t understand. Is there a list somewhere that runs through all the good reasons for importing people from low trust cultures, specifically Somalis? I mean, apart from how they are reliable votes for the DemoCommies (geez, just think… one eighth of MN’s representation in the HofR is Somali).

    Like Duh!

Taking inspiration from Feeding Our Future, the DFL launched Minnesota’s Free School Meals for Kids program.

Think of all the skimming and kickbacks!

Why mess that up with audits?

    Greg,
I’m with you. I’d like to follow the money trail and see how many DFL donors got the contracts to provide the Hostess Honey Buns, etc. to the screwals.

Early on in the FOF investigation, some moronic female judge, allowed one of the defendants, who allegedly received $500-600k, to return to Nigeria, so that he could “make amends and return the money”. Booked a one way ticket.

  4. Greg Says:

Boss, long before FOF, suitcases chuck-full of cash were flying out of MSP bound for Nigeria held by multiple subsidized “daycare providers”.

More than a decade ago, I did a study for my former employer, who will remain nameless, whereby I studied the state’s driver license database. The object was to discover how unique the combination of surname, given name, middle name and DOB was, as it was often used as a database key.

Just the full name provided a great deal of uniqueness, but when DOB was added, there were no duplicates……with one glaring exception: Muhammad, Muhammad 01/01/ (fill in the year). In many third world countries, especially Africa and Southeast Asia, DOB is not recorded.

There were hundreds of such duplicates.

Now imagine trying to audit recipients of daycare or food subsidies within such a community.

It’s not just Minnesota, it’s Democrat-run government everywhere. I just saw something that D0GE identified 12 MILLION people in the Social Security system over the age of 120 years who are actually dead.

Off the top of my head . . .
    Were those people receiving payments?
If they are dead, who cashed those checks?
Will we be getting the money back?
Who’s going to jail and when?
How much other fraud, waste and abuse am I paying for?

  6. Greg Says:

That 120 years was a bit of a goof up. It resulted in a default date in the Cobol programs for a missing dob

  7. Greg Says:

Of course no one has explained why there was a missing dob. Edits should have caught this and rejected the application

  8. bosshoss429 Says:

    Big;
I’ve got the same questions. My understanding is that they have at least stopped the payments. It’s reported that disparate government systems, have resulted in the continued payments, because the government didn’t know they were dead.

On another note, I’ve heard from a pretty reliable source that the FEC is investigating Jasmine Crockpot for campaign fraud, via ActBlue. Further, she is also allegedly collecting the social security checks of one of those dead people, who was a family member.

Musk pointed out in an interview that people don’t complain when they receive their government check, they complain when they don’t receive it. So the system is set up to send out checks – whether deserved or not – because that way, no one ever complains.

    I’m complaining.

  11. John "Bigman" Jones Says:

Imagine if you ran your personal checkbook the way they ran Social Security. A bunch of money keeps coming out of the account every month but we don’t know who it’s for or why they took the money, we just know it’s gone.

  12. Bill C Says:

Bigman, if my checking account had an income stream guaranteed at gunpoint, I might not be as concerned about why the money was leaving or who was taking it either. What if there is too much leaving? I can just increase my income stream at will, because its being generated at gunpoint.
