Domino

Minneapolis deputy police chief Katie Blackwell’s defamation suit was thrown out, and she’s been ordered to pay back part of Liz Collin’s legal fees:
This may be the biggest backfire I’ve seen in a defamation suit – and the subject is by no means academic to me.
In a move that finally brings truth to the matter, Blackwell also signed a written declaration, stating:
“I, Katie Blackwell, acknowledge, agree, and affirm that everything in the Honorable Edward T. Wahl’s Order Regarding Special Motion for Expedited Relief Under Minn. Stat. § 554.09 and for Fees and Costs Under Minn. Stat. § 554.16 dated April 8, 2025 is accurate, true, and correct.”
So, despite her initial claims, Blackwell has now affirmed that all of Judge Wahl’s findings are “accurate, true, and correct.”
So this brings up all sorts of questions about Blackwell’s testimony in the Chauvin trial – including her assertions that the restraint technique Chauvin used on Floyd, which appeared to have been straight out of the department’s training manual as affirmed by several Minneapolis cops interviewed in Collin’s movie, was no-how, no-way, ever part of the MPD’s training canon.
Read the whole article. And buckle up. This next year or two is going be a doozie in Minnesota courts.

You might wanna update that link when you tell the reader to read it.
I expect that the “no standing” excuse is gonna get worn out. Looking forward to Mr Jones’ commentary tho’.

If everything the judge in this case said was correct, then everything the Chief said in the other case was not correct.
A person might think that when the state knowingly offers perjured testimony in a criminal trial, common sense and decency require that the defendant have his conviction thrown out. Not sure that notion applies to lynchings.

I highly recommend reading the document found at the link Judge Wahl’s findings. It is devastating to Blackwell and the MPD.
Cue the howling “DUE PROCESS” from the usual suspects

10/10 the
PDtaxpaying mooks of Minneapolis will be footing that bill.Interesting situation though. Will Tampon Tim’s big mouth motivate Trump to order the DOJ to pursue a perjury trial? It’s clearly a civil rights issue, so the feds have jurisdiction. And TT has clearly gotten under Trump’s thin skin.
And if that wretched whammen copper gets convicted, will the Floyd Four automatically get new trials?
TT had direct responsibility for the disaster that ensued. He has parlayed that buffoonery into what he thinks is a positive national image. I gotta believe Trump would nothing love nothing better than schlonging Tampon Tim, bigly.

Here’s something I don’t understand. I assume that when you sue, you have some notion that you have have right or justice on your side and you want to rectify the perception of the situation.
In this case, though, Blackwell was wrong. And/or she was lying. Was she looking to make a few easy bucks? Was she told, convinced, or paid off to think she would be able to win? Was she not informed that if she lost, there would be consequences (I know this is taking place in MN/Mpls and the dirty laundry will mysteriously disappear, but still…)? I just don’t understand the stupid bint’s motivations – or perhaps she’s just that dumb.

Looking forward to see the fur fly on this one, and hopefully it costs Blackwell her career. It can’t be fun to be a cop in prison, so any remedy ought to take that into account.
