Penitence Needed

Mistakes were made. Nobody could have known. Can’t we just move on?

And pass it around. Forgiveness without atonement is a litlte hollow.

I’m willing to move forward post Covid. I’m will to accept people that previously supported the Lockdowns and even the vaccination mandates. But I need something from those people first. I need them to acknowledge they were wrong. I need them to be contrite. I need them to recount the errors in their judgement. I need them to acknowledge the hypocrisy of condemning anti-lockdown and anti-mandate protests while simultaneously cheering on the George Floyd protests and riots. I’m not will to just brush those mistakes under the rug and move forward as if it never happened. People can learn and change. But they also need to acknowledge how wrong they were to help keep it from happening again.

I wouldn’t hold my breath. I speak from personal experience. I was treated that way by my own family. Even my wife of 46 years, wouldn’t apologize and she was the worst offender to me.

What Smith says, and we also need to have some “come to Jesus” moments for the CDC, NIH, and WHO about why they missed certain things so badly. Why did they neglect natural immunity? Why did they ignore the fact that 126nm particles do form aerosols that will be an “infection plume” for those walking through it? Why did they send COVID patients to nursing homes to recuperate, infecting the most vulnerable? Why were offices and grocery stores putting arrows on the floor to direct people through that plume of infection? Why didn’t the CDC, NIH, and WHO recognize that the “wet market” theory was wrong until the epidemic was basically over?
(etc., etc., etc.)
Perhaps I am particularly blessed, as a good friend of mine is a pathologist who does a certain amount of immune system work at Mayo, but a big part of this is something that anyone who remembers junior high science class and learning about the great epidemics of the past ought to be conversant about. So the question of why rooms full of MDs and PhDs missed this is key.

BH429, this is where the C.S. Lewis quote about tyranny is applicable.
They won’t apologize because they KNOW they are in the right, and will refuse to accept any other viewpoint. The societal levels of entitlement and narcissism went off the charts due to St Floyd of Fentanyl and Covid.
