Shot in the Dark

Angie Craig: MODERATE! MODERATE! MODERATE!

Remember Angie Craig?

Every two years she dusts off the ads with her four-wheeling around the back roads of her district, hanging out with the good ol’ boys in LeSeuer County, trying to appear “moderate”.

Remember Yusuf Haji?

Probably not.  He’s running for Dakota County Commission.

Seems pretty innocent, right?

Turns out Haji’s got friends in low – and left-wing – places:

Turns out, not so much.

Haji is affiliated with “Our Revolution Twin Cities” – a group that wants to defund the police, among a dog’s breakfast of other bad ideas. Here’s an X thread with more on ORTC.

MInd you, this is in the same community that just had two cops and a firefighter killed by someone who would have been in jail but for the DFL’s other dilution of the criminal justice system.

Thing is, this area – the DakCo Commission, the various House districts (Gabriela Kroetsch is a strong GOP challenger in HD55A), and of course Angie Craig is vulnerable enough that this district is considered a plausibly contested race.

So if you live in the south burbs, don’t be fooled.  Haji is a Moriarty – and Angie Craig is sucking up to the radical fringe that is no longer a fringe in this metro.

“and Angie Craig is sucking up to the radical fringe that is no longer a fringe in this metro.”

While simultaneously running ads with Washington County Sheriff Dan Starry and his Deputies about how Angie stood up to the Defund the Police movement in, (checks ad), Minneapolis which last I checked is in neither Sheriff Starry’s jurisdiction nor Congresswomen Craig’s Congressional District.
It’s too bad Washington County didn’t elect Paul Hoppe in 2018, and it’s even worse that the County’s voters won’t remember betrayal when he runs for reelection in 2026.
Maybe I CAN use it against him at the gun club this month. Up till now all of the law enforcement adjacent folks I chat with have really liked Dan, while all I’ve had is my gut feeling and a tenuous personal connection to Chief Hoppe (cousin in law was a Wyoming officer).

I’m mildly surprised that radical leftwing ideas and DemoCommie politicians seem to have a beachhead in the southern metro. I’d be curious to find out from those of you who live there or know something, why do you think this is so?

Also, since she doesn’t really seem to hide her DemoCommie affiliations, does Angie really have to pretend to be some sort of moderate?

    JDM,
Angie at least thinks she needs to. She did come out against the Defund the Police movement in Minneapolis, and her ads have been touting her bipartisan record. As Mitch has been pointing out for months, Angie is concerned about her chances. She’s been running General Election type ads for 6 months now, and she’s the incumbent with the name ID. It’s usually the challenger that gets out early to build the name ID and try to define themselves before the incumbent can convince everyone that the challenger is “extreme,” and “wrong for Minnesota.”

How come THEY get to have a tip line? Why doesn’t Minnesota have a tip line?

And why is it only for guns? Where’s the tip line to report Jews? And stay-at-home-moms? And people who cook on backyard grills to Kill Mother Earth? Where are those tip lines?

Got a lotta work to do, Ange.

A couple of weeks ago, 154 DemoCommies in congress, vote against the deportation of illegal invaders that commit sex crimes. I’ll give credit to Craig. She joined Republicans and voted for the bill.
