For Those Who Don’t Already Know

By Mitch Berg

When the left talks about gun control / “gun safety”, it’s talking about you.

Not them..

During the relevant time frame, the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office rarely issued [carry permits]. Indeed, the office’s practice was to not even process an application for a CCW license absent a special instruction to do so…

…Thomas Moyer is Apple, Inc.’s head of global security. The company’s executive protection team is under his supervision. In 2016 and early 2017 the team began receiving more serious threats against Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, and became concerned about its ability to respond to these threats. As a consequence, in early 2017, Apple decided its executive protection team should be armed and began taking steps to obtain CCW licenses for team members…

…two Apple officials—David Gullo, senior director of global security, and Eric Mueller, senior director of operations for the security team—met with Undersheriff Sung [whose boss was running for re-election] to discuss CCW licenses…On March 26, 2019, members of Apple’s executive protection team were told to pick up their CCW licenses, which they did at the Sheriff’s Office…

Government licensing is a wealth transfer – on the table, or under it.

Bribing public officials to do their jobs is common practice in Third World Shitholes like . . . California? Oooookay.

Anything to do with dealing with goobernment officials is bribery. Banana republic much?

  3. MtkaMoose Says:

This story points out the fact that “may issue” permit schemes are inherently corrupt. Favored people or groups get theirs and everyone else is SOL.

That’s why I’m glad MN GOCRA and other liberty-minded groups got Minnesota’s laws changed to shall issue years ago.

Between this and the lesbian woman who killed a four year old teaching him “firearm safety” by pointing a loaded gun at him and pulling the trigger, maybe we do have a case for limiting RKBA to those who don’t vote for Democrats. Just sayin’.

  5. Jay Dee Says:

“Gun Safety” is the new term for Jim Crow.

I have to take mandatory compliance training for this kind of stuff (conflicts of interest/gifts), both at the company for whom I work, and the company to which I am contracted.

The one thing that stuck out to me in that article? Not once did it mention Undersheriff Sung being held accountable since it was HE who went to Apple asking for “support for the sheriff’s re-election” Yes, Moyer went along with the idea and covered it up, but the whole thing was at the initiation of Sung, not Moyer.
