They Know What Matters

By Mitch Berg

Humans: “My God, this is horrible. Those poor girls…“

DFL/Media (pardon the redundancy): “OK, who leaked the video?“

Well, no – I’m actually not exaggerating (thread):

The problem, Ms. Moriarty, is that nobody trust you or your office. Not even a fair chunk of people who would never consider not voting for the DFL.

Controlling the narrative is priority #1.

So Moriarty first comment about the case is to highlight what she believes is police misconduct.
Bill Glahn exposes Derrick Thompson’s long, long rap sheet here: https://www.americanexperiment.org/sins-of-the-father/
I think what is happening is that woke DA’s and judges keep spinning hardened criminals like Thompson out of jail knowing that eventually something like Friday night’s slaughter will occur. They know that they won’t be blamed for the inevitable carnage, but they know that they will be blamed for putting more black people behind bars if they follow the law.

Man. I was impressed with how well Moriarty has been in performing her job as a local Soros DA, but that twitter thread moves her up into another class of evil.

Wondering if Moriarty’s doing this (which includes taking the heat for this thread), as part of an effort to stall out the judicial process against Junior.

Will “restorative justice” restore these girls? Restore justice for these families? We’re watching, Mary.

    Her next tweet:

“I will not give in to the voices of racial hatred demanding a lynching. The Prosecutors duty is not merely to seek convictions, it is to do Justice. The defendant has rights.”

“I will not give in to the voices of racial hatred demanding a lynching. The Prosecutors duty is not merely to seek convictions, it is to do Justice. The defendant has rights, unless he is white.”

There, fixed it for you, Big, you are welcome.

Not gonna deny that I thought Bigman’s “her next tweet” was real. I mean, it touched all the important points and just sounded right.

Day Four. Five Somali girls dead and buried. Still no comment from Representative Ilhan Omar, their congress person, who usually does not miss an opportunity to promote her Muslim residents.

Of course, she did endorse the defendant’s father for state representative. I guess that might create a conflict of interest. But still, don’t you think she would have something to say about this incident? Thoughts and prayers, if nothing else? Weird.

Surprised she wasn’t elbowing her way to the front seats at the memorial. She could have had Keith Ellison’s seat – I don’t think he was using it.

Re Day 4 – and the Thompson name has yet to appear in a headline on the Strib.

Yesterday’s article about the mourners buried it deep in the article, and mentioned he is the son of John Thompson, former DFL legislator. Today the same article deletes the reference to Thompson, Sr.

How are they going to weave “white privilege” into the story?
Oh, I know-the person who rented him the Escalade was probably white…

  13. Maga Mammuthus Primigenesis Says:

What I want to know is what the experts and Minneapolis politicians say was the cause of the tragic death of the five young women. Sure, the easy answer is that it was the fault of a young black man who should still have been in prison for the last time he drove like a maniac, crashed a car, injured a woman and ran off, but perhaps the real culprit is the systemic racism of white people? We really don’t know yet. Has Jesse Jackson weighed in on this yet? What about Benjamin Crump?

  14. Maga Mammuthus Primigenesis Says:

And Moriarty won;t charge Thompson yet & has asked for an extension.
Pure politics, she could charge with anything she wants, now, and change the charges later.
Moriarty is looking for some way, any way, to deflect the blame for the death of the five young ladies from Thompson to the mpls police or the state patrol.
This is what the good people of Hennepin County voted for when they elected her.

  15. Night Writer Says:

Moriarity predictably slow-played it, and finally settled on vehicular homicide charges instead of 3rd degree murder. The Feds, though, have jumped in with charges on drug and gun possession which could well result in an extended prison stay regardless of what Hennco does.

It was interesting, though, to read the Strib’s article with the headline that Thompson thought he had been overcharged in the Cali hit and run. The article was surprisingly uncompromising in its language and description of Thompson’s actions and past. Have the powers-that-be decided to put even more official distance between themselves and the Thompson family?
