My Theory

By Mitch Berg

Yesterday, we noted that Governor Flanagan and Mr. Walz were going noticeably loooooooooonbg on abortion in their socialist media presence. \

It’s enough to make you think that their internal polls are bad enough that they are shoring up their base to try to forestall a complete meltdown.

Don’t get cocky, of course.

But does this…

…look like someone whose big concern is reaching outside her base?

My theory – their internal polling, especially in CD2, is is “engine room on the Titanic is flooding” bad.

Abortion rights = lower gas prices.

Well, after that bull crap give away bill on climate, energy and Obamacare that they announced late yesterday (after Manchin caved to Schumer), they’ll have more problems than abortions. It’s no coincidence that they pushed this through just before the lower GDP figure was announced. We are in a full blown recession, but the left’s praetorian guard media is still trying to deny it and Pedo Pete’s minions are redefining what a recession is. Obfuscate and deflect: the mantra of the DemoCommies.

boss, mathematically, Sinema can still derail it. I would not put it past Manchin and Sinema to coordinate this.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen little Angie (pretend to) get as angry about something as she does in this tweet. But abortion? With everything else happening now and Angie gets fist-pounding worked up about abortion?

Man, what a great life she and her ilk lead. No worries about inflation, energy prices, rising crime, disintegration of urban areas, etc, etc… but abortion.

Not surprising, jdm. It dovetails nicely with the nihilist, defeatist viewpoints they seem to hold: Inflation on the rise? Don’t reverse public policies contributing to the issue. Tell people they have to get used to be less economically secure, less comfortable. Energy prices? Tell people to either crank up the thermostat on the A/C or give it up altogether in the summertime, and put on a sweater in the wintertime. Rising crime? Tell the middle class their expectation of safer streets is a mark of white privilege. At the same time, belittle their insistence of protecting themselves in lieu of their government having abdicated its responsibility.

Abortion? Young heterosexual couples can’t afford a kid AND can’t afford birth control? Seems like the simple answer is refrain from the activity that causes pregnancy, or accept the consequences and roll the dice. But for the Left? Just “eliminate” the problem.

She’s doing what leftists always do: reframing the issue into something with only one side. A developing human becomes a mass of inanimate cells which lacks rights. It’s only about privacy and control of one’s body. Similarly: the desire to provide cities safe from crime and violence becomes “systemic racism .” Asking for schools to provide a place where learning occurs without interruption becomes denial of equity and inclusion. Rights are to be given by the State. They aren’t God given foundations of a free people.

Energy is a substitute for labor. Labor is used to create everything humans need — food, clean water, transportation, shelter, and rare commodity called “leisure.”
    So cheap energy is freedom.
