Hillary figured out how to turn Haitian Relief donations into family funds. Of course she did, she’s the Smartest Woman in America (TM).

But Lesko Brandon figured out how to convert Ukraine foreign aid into 10% for The Big Guy, and he’s the dumbest man in Congress. He didn’t think up the scheme on his own, someone coached him. Who? And who else did they coach to use a similar scheme: maybe not Haiti but some other grant recipient, some other non-profit, some other book deal or art sale?

There doesn’t seem to be much enthusiasm in Washington for investigating money-laundering corrupt politicians, not even among Republicans. I wonder if the reluctance to throw stones has anything to do with living in glass houses?

That’s why I’m really, really, really hoping DeSantis gets the nod in 2024. Call me naïve, but I think he will at least have enough moral high ground, personally, to try to tackle this.

    Yup! The “book deal” are code words for payoff. Once a loyal droog follows his, usually illegal and/or unconstitutional, orders, they get a book deal. The latest person to announce that she’s writing a “memoir” about growing up Biden, is Pedo Joe’s sister. In this case though, she’s just like her brother Jim and her crack head nephew, cashing in on the Big Guy.

    There is little curiosity among “journalists” as to why Joe Biden made one of the most corrupt nations in a corrupt region his nation of special interest.
    And not one of them has speculated what, if not for his potential influence with Joe Biden, was the reason Burisma hired Hunter Biden?
    BTW, one of the reasons Trump’s second impeachment failed (or was it his third? I forget) was that his supposed “extortion” of Zelensky was inconsequential. It was just Trump being his usual blowhard self.

    I hope Desantis doesn’t move to D.C. My wife wants to retire to Florida and if our man is gone, who will run the state? Charlie Christ? Jeb Bush? Some pedo-wokester who buys the election with Disney money? How will future elections turn out with Democrats in charge of everything?

    No, sorry, you can’t have Desantis, we need him where he is. Why not see if Mittens wants to lose gracefully again? Maybe add Liz Chaney to the ticket, she’s got star power, everyone in Washington loves her.

Whatsis-name’s Fence and all, having at least one state and a big one at that able to resist the the bolsheviks and pedos is not something to give up without a good deal of thought. I mean, if DeS wants to run, it’s his right, but…

    I guess that Biden and his allies have to pin their hopes on Slow Joe . . . no, there is no hope in Slow Joe. If Biden runs in 2024, he won’t be able to hide in his basement again. The GOP tactic, I believe, will be to force Slow Joe to keep up a hectic campaign pace will expose his dementia or force his physical and mental collapse.
    And with Kamala as a back up?
    No hope there, either, for the Bidenistas.

    1) The reason Hunter Biden was given a job was simply for Ukrainian domestic reasons for protection from Poreshenko as Burisima is headed by a former energy minister in the Yanukovich government and his company naturally won some gas field tenders which would have been corrupt but not unusual in that part of the world so Biden’s son and ex Polish president were invited onto board to provide high profile cover.

    2) The US and EU both wanted to get rid of the Ukrainian prosecutor Shokin because he didn’t investigate corruption he was useless and corrupt himself.

    Manafort linked to Trump and the RNC was milking pro Russian Ukrainian Oligarchs and working against US/EU foreign policy to bring Ukraine into the western orbit.

    So Emery admits that it was influence peddling after all.
    Done entirely for venal reasons. It wasn’t a “noble effort,” not when it was costing the Ukrainians close to a million bucks a year.
    And of Course Emery’s scenario is denied by Biden, because even Slow Joe knows that admitting that Burisma hired his son to influence him is not a good look.

    BTW, when a person in public life is asked to sit on the board of a company to improve its image or to act in an oversight capacity they usually agree to serve for a nominal sum, say $1/year + reasonable expenses. That way it doesn’t like a shakedown.
    If that was Slow Joe’s plan, that’s what he would have told Hunter to do.
    Poor ol’ Emery, all of his political cypherin’ and calculatin’ leads him to bull shit, yet again.

    Suppose I’m a businessman in Ukraine engaged in high-stakes corruption. I need some high-profile heavyweights to pull strings to protect me.

    I know, I’ll pay the son of of the Vice President of Mexico to sit on my Board of Directors, so his daddy will pull strings for me. What’s that, he has no strings to pull in Ukraine? How about the Vice President of Brazil? Finland? Maybe Joe Doakes’ kid, does Joe have strings in Ukraine?

    If Lesko Brandon wasn’t Vice President and assigned by Obama to be in charge of Ukraine, appointing Lesko Brandon’s kid to the Board of Directors would have carried no more weight than anybody else’s kid. It’s explicitly because of who Hunter’s father is and what power his father has to fire the investigator looking into the corruption, that makes laundering the bribe through Hunter a worthwhile investment.

    The more Progressives try to explain away the corruption, the worse it sounds. Face it, the President of the United States is a corrupt, lying, dog faced pony soldier and senile to boot. Thankfully, we have Kamala to fall back on.

    The Ukrainian prosecutor, Shokin, was not actively investigating Hunter Biden or Burisma at the time—nor any other high-level corruption in Ukraine—so Joe Biden’s “interference” could only have resulted in the re-starting of the Burisma investigation by a new prosecutor.

    Moreover, no “criminal investigation” has ever “implicated” Hunter Biden—that is simply a lie. Hunter became a Burisma director in April 2014, long after the Burisma/Zlochevsky corruption allegations had been made; he was obviously appointed to lend an aura of credibility to an already damaged company, as a demonstration of its good intentions. Agreeing to do so was also obviously unwise, but Hunter Biden is not someone suffering from an overabundance of good judgement…

    Ironically, one of the US’ main criticisms of Shokin in late 2014 was that Shokin had failed to assist the UK’s investigation into Burisma’s owner, Zlochevsky, which then had to be dropped, due to lack of evidence/assistance from Shokin/Ukraine.

    Yes, nepotism happens. Is it moral? No. Is it legal? Yes. Do Republicans care when it involves a member of their own party? Of course not. Which is why they forfeited the right to be taken seriously on this count long ago.

    Nepotism is when I give my kid a job.

    When some other employer gives my kid a no-show job at an inflated salary which my kid passes along to me, to buy influence for the employer, that’s not nepotism. That’s corruption.

    Don’t care whether it’s moral or legal, I care whether it’s hidden. Everybody knew about Trump’s kids profiting from his name – the media wouldn’t shut about it.

    Nobody knew about Lesko Brandon’s kid, the Deep State and the media buried it until now, when it’s too late for the voters to act on it.

    Just for clarity, E, I don’t deny being a fool. I may be a fool but the linked article doesn’t prove it.

    I don’t recall claiming Lesko Brandon’s corrupt money-laundering scheme broke the law (when you scour the internet for all my prior posts to show I’m wrong, include links, willya?) Indeed, the point of this very post is that he’s not bright enough to have figured out how to run the scam. Somebody coached him how to legally turn influence into money, same as Bill Clinton’s speeches, Obama’s book deal, Hillary’s Haiti foundation, Hunter’s artwork and no doubt many Republicans, as well. They wrote the law, they know the loopholes, they take advantage of the loopholes to get rich without going to jail.

    But saying a politician who took money committed “no wrongdoing” isn’t the same as saying he’s righteous, honorable, upstanding and deserving of election any more than OJ’s acquittal means he didn’t kill those people.

    What I said was the evidence of Lesko Brandon’s corrupt money-laundering scheme found on Hunter’s laptop was hidden from the voters by the media and Deep State (50 intelligence officers swearing it was Russian disinformation and FBI seizing but losing the laptop and everything on it) until it was too late for the voters to act on the evidence of Lesko Brandon’s corrupt money-laundering scheme. If the voters had known about the evidence, they could have made their own decision. By suppressing the evidence, voters were robbed of their chance to make an informed decision.

    The article doesn’t mention that claim, at all.

    Again, Emery misses the point and in doing so shows that he does not understand what the word “nepotism” means.
    Nepotism is when you hire your son. Inducing someone else to hire your son using a real or implied threat is a shakedown, If you do it, and influence peddling if your son is hired because of his promised or implied influence with you.
    What Slow Joe and/or Hunter Biden did was nothing like nepotism.
    And anyway, the issue has never been about a criminal case against Joe or Hunter Biden, it has been about the media spreading false information (aka “fake news”) that the Hunter Biden laptop was a Russian disinformation operation.
    This happened at a critical time in the election season, an honest media would have taken a neutral stance on the authenticity of the laptop and the Biden emails. They did not.

    The reason that this story will not go away is because HB fathered a child during the period we are talking about. That child is represented by the missing stocking in the White House Christmas display that had the names of Slow Joe’s grandchildren on them.
    There was no stocking named for hunter Biden’s daughter Navy Jones Roberts.
    The child’s mother, Lunden Alexis Roberts, and her lawyers have legal reason to root around in Hunter Biden’s finances.
    Most people do not realize how irresponsible and reckless Hunter Biden was during the time his father was VP and afterwards. The Hunter Biden contamination is real. The honorable thing for Slow Joe to have done would have been to retire from politics. Some say that this is what he had planned to do, but that he was pressed into running because the neo-liberals in the Democrat party were desperate to stop Bernie Sanders because it would leave them in a lose-lose situation.
    Whatever. They wanted Slow Joe, they got Slow Joe.
    And Hunter Biden. And record setting inflation, an open border, defeat in Afghanistan and a land war in Europe.
    But no mean tweets.

    Where were all the Burisma investigations during the early years of the reign of Trump, when Republicans controlled both Houses? Where were all the Burisma investigations during the years of the Obama Presidency, when Republicans controlled both Houses?

    Nowhere — it’s all a scam to score political points…..

Everyone agreed the evidence of Letsgo Brandon’s corrupt money laundering scheme found on Hunter’s laptop was Russian disinformation, that is, until about a month ago when they conceded it was all true but it’s too late to do anything about it, neener neener.
