Mention

Joe Doakes from Como Park emailed me yesterday:

Today is the Honorable Sixth, the day when patriots everywhere raise their fingers to the usurper in Washington, in memory of the innocents slaughtered and the political prisoners still held captive for attempting to secure democracy by peaceful means.

Joe Doakes

I mean, if it were Democrats and the occupant were a Repubican, that’s what we’d have heard all day yesterday…

  1. Let’s take a trip down memory lane, to inauguration day, 2017, when Donald J. Trump was sworn in as the 45th president of the United States.
    Washington CNN —

Six police officers were injured and 217 protesters arrested Friday after a morning of peaceful protests and coordinated disruptions of Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony gave way to ugly street clashes in downtown Washington.

At least two DC police officers and one other person were taken to the hospital after run-ins with protesters, DC Fire Spokesman Vito Maggiolo told CNN. Acting DC Police Chief Peter Newsham said the officers’ injuries were considered minor and not life threatening.

Bursts of chaos erupted on 12th and K streets as black-clad “antifascist” protesters smashed storefronts and bus stops, hammered out the windows of a limousine and eventually launched rocks at a phalanx of police lined up in an eastbound crosswalk. Officers responded by launching smoke and flash-bang devices, which could be heard from blocks away, into the street to disperse the crowds.
“Pepper spray and other control devices were used to control the criminal actors and protect persons and property,” police said.
Anti-Trump protests also broke out Friday in US cities, including New York, Seattle, Dallas, Chicago and Portland, Oregon. Authorities in Seattle say one person was in critical condition at a hospital with a gunshot wound. Demonstrations also took place overseas in Hong Kong, Berlin and London.

  2. Instead of waving the bloody shirt, the Dems should have waved the poopy pants. While I don’t endorse violence, I find some satisfaction at anything that makes the elite sh*tt their pants instead of just sh*tting the legislative bed.

  3. I listened to Bari Weiss interview Liz Cheney today.
Cheney has fallen far. What struck me the most about Cheney’s story about Trump’s actions was that it seemed to take place in a vacuum. There was a lot of flak about constitutional procedures — but the voting took place under extra-constitutional circumstances, invoked because of a nothingburger pandemic. Voting rules were changed with no time to challenge the changes in court. The context also includes multiple riots, by leftists allied with the democrat party, across the country.
We are in such a crazy place right now that Pelosi’s committee includes Jamie Raskin (D-Maryland) who refused to certify Trump’s 2016 victory over Hillary.

  4. So, to recap…

Trump wins the 2016 election in breath-taking against-all-odds style then spends the next four years insulting and provoking everyone and everything. All in all, those tactics are good for  a four year average approval rating of 41%.

Then in 2020, a record number of Americans decide they don’t care for the insults, the braggadocio, and the lunacy and decide to vote for Biden. Trump works some more of his magic and loses the Georgia run-off and control of the Senate. So now Trump’s GOP are a perfect 0-3 in controlling the WH and Congress.

But the GOP and Trump are certain the American public love them no matter what so they take the break-up very badly. Trump whips up a wannabe militia to storm the Capitol and overthrow the election — but they’re too busy taking selfies to actually do anything. Trump then gets banned from Twitter and Facebook for being TOO CRAZY FOR SOCIAL MEDIA (!!!!!!!!!!1!!11!!!@@&!!).

Meanwhile Biden into the White House, starts doing normal President stuff.

Meanwhile, down in Mar-a-Lago….  Trump is busy faxing (!?!) the contents of his brain to anyone who remembers he’s still alive — mainly seems to be the comedy writers for the late night talk shows — while he waits for New York public prosecutors to sift through his lifetime of business failures, obscure finances, and fake billionaire wealth to build a very serious criminal case against him.

And yet, even in this whirlwind of insanity that Trump has created, the GOP faithful still idolize him like he’s Eisenhower.

It’s true what they say: people get the leaders they deserve…

  5. Between feeding the Jøtul and waxing skis — I’ve found I have a little time to spare the past few days.
