Togetherness?

Joe Doakes from Como Park emails:

Hoover, Kennedy and Trump donated their salaries to charity.  Biden is worth $10 million. During the pandemic when so many Americans are out of work and hurting, is Biden donating his salary? Are we truly “all in this together?”

Joe Doakes

Wait – “all in this together” is still a thing?

I thought it was just something Democrat pols say to get elected. Like “One Minnesota”.

  1. Actually, there should be a large number of Democrats donating their salaries to the very people that they put out of work, claiming “science.” Especially the people like Nancy Pelosi, Fauxcahontas Warren and Mad Maxine Waters, who have all profited significantly from their votes and actions. But, we all know that Democrat political types, are economically illiterate. They believe that money grows on trees, is delivered by unicorns and leprechauns or hey! We can just print more. It would be nice to, even just once, see a Democrat step up. Sadly, they are all the con artists and grifters that they claim Donald Trump was.

  2. Meh… it’s a meaningless virtue signal no matter who does it. Virtue signal in the real, practical sense… not the Mitch sense.

Now, I acknowledge there’s some chance it can be proven Trump actually did donate his salary.  But it’s not something I’d believe just because he presented a huge ceremonial check to some branch of the government like he was doing.  The guy lied about his business career and his money and his charities his entire life.

Donation of $400k to charity is a virtue-signal?

  4. Compared to the loot they accrue through graft, politicians salaries are pizza money.

But it’s still loot, and 90% of them would rather kill puppies with an ice pick than hand over 1 red cent.

And look at lil Kraphammer go…thinks he knows what’s what with Trump because CNN and WaPo says so.

I wonder if Kerry received some loot for the classified intel he spilled to the Iranians…seriously, it wouldn’t surprise me if he did.

Thanks to reprobate, leftist politicians, America’s enemies know what time watches change on our subs, and what is on tonight’s menu in the galley.

It’s almost like they *want* to see our country destroyed…

  5. BH, this is all the legacy of Memaw Clinton.

Once her reprobate ilk saw her get away with treason, destroying evidence and lying to the FBI, the game was on.

There’s really no perfidy so low a leftist won’t engage in it, if there’s political or financial gains to be had.

Until they are purged from within our midst, we can expect their fuckery to reach levels heretofore believed impossible.

  6. in over 5ive years I have heard or read no criticism of Trump from the Left or the #nevertrumpers that is not founded on an irrational and visceral hatred of the man and his voters.
That’s just weird and, of course, insane.
I can criticize Biden all day long without using personal insults or snark.

  7. While he was a senator Biden was known as one of the poorest of senators. He was worth < $100k.
After 2016 his income skyrocketed. He is now worth about $10 million (as Doakes notes in his email to MBerg). Most of his post-veep wealth has come from a publishing contract & speaking fees. Says a Forbes writer, anyhow.

  8. Their favorite grift is to hire someone to ghost write some inane memoir, and the shop it around to lobbiests.

Is so glaringly obvious, even Kraphammer could twig it.

  9. Speaking of Kerry’s treason, have y’all been catching the outrage coming from the GOP legislatures? All the press conferences? Yeah, me neither.

Well, Lindsay Graham did weigh in…
““I don’t know if we should trust that tape or not. If it’s true, it’s very damaging,” Graham said. “I like John Kerry, but that would not be helpful and it would be very problematic if it were true. But let’s wait and see how authentic this is.”

Don’t forget to vote harder next time…vote soo hard.

  10. I think the word you’re looking for, Dr. Pete, is “emoluments.” Didn’t we have a resident scholar lecture us about them, at some point in the not-too-distant past?

  11. Remember the deadly importance of enforcing the Logan Act?
    But only against Mike Flynn?

  12. It occurs to me that our Emoluments Clause scholar was also an expert in Leadership. In response to my many, many questions about what President Trump should have done to prevent the spread of Covid, when he should have done it, and under what authority, the only response I ever got was that the President should have shown leadership.

President Trump showed leadership by the simple gesture of donating his salary as President to charity. I would have thought President Biden would want to show his leadership, too, by continuing the gesture. I was wrong.

  13. JD, our Emoluments Clause scholar is probably getting in a bit of last minute shredding up at the Birkie…or maybe jumping cliffs on his m0uNTain Bike.

Compared to their graft, the salaries of politicians is pin money. But a reprobate would still rather kill bunnies with fire than give up $.01 of their loot.

  15. Well, Biden’s cut of Hunter’s book advance probably doesn’t carry him that far, so he’s got to take the pay, no? Plus, if he admits that he’s wealthy, he does have the (admittedly small) risk of someone asking how he got there. Maybe through Hunter’s shell company, and then perhaps even Democrats would say “hey, wait a minute…”

  16. Regarding the whole “unity” joke, if you guys want a laugh check out Little Red Lying Hood* trying to explain why Chance the Gardener hasn’t been more unifying. Sorry, no link.

  17. I can criticize Biden all day long without using personal insults or snark.

Biden has been a treasure trove of gaffes and lies during his time in Washington. His willingness to slander Curtis Dunn after his death, ostensibly for political profit, speaks volumes as to the man’s lack of character.

  18. Kin, for the umpteenth time, Chance had much more common sense and definitely humility than Bidon. ever had, has or will. Sorry, but that is one of my favorite movies and last time checked, Bidon does not walk on water, unlike Chance.
