So what’s the best way to get a great deal on air fares for a flight that’s within the next week?
No, it’s not for me.

Orbitz.com is a good one.
Hotwire.com is typically the cheapest but you won’t know the time of your departure until after you accept a flight’s price.

If you want a flight and a hotel or flight and rental car, I’ve had very good luck with Travelocity’s “last minute deals”.

http://site59.com actually powers the Travelocity last minute deals. You can save a chunk going there directly. And yes, that’s the cheapest way I know to do these short time line flights if you go over a weekend. I’ve gotten flights and a car for 5 days through them with 12 hours notice for less than just the flight with 21 days notice. You get the best deals by starting your shopping on Wednesday for weekend flights.
