Darn All That Republican Rhetoric

I’ve become convinced that the greatest ever in rotation of Berg’s 7th law has been this past two decades’ drum beat of promises that there is “an avalanche of right wing terrorism” just around the corner.

Any day now.

Honest.

Actor James Cromwell predicts – I would say it’s more like “calls for” – “revolution” if the Republicans win the midterms:

Speaking to Variety at the event, he warned of the turn that he sees America taking and cautioned there will be “blood in the streets” if Republicans remain in control.

“This is nascent fascism. We always had a turnkey, totalitarian state — all we needed was an excuse, and all the institutions were in place to turn this into pure fascism,” Cromwell said. “If we don’t stop [President Trump] now, then we will have a revolution for real. Then there will be blood in the streets.”

The star, who previously played George H.W. Bush in Oliver Stone’s “W,” echoed these sentiments during his acceptance speech, where he warned that he believes the country is headed toward the possibility of a violent revolution.

“We’re living in very curious times, and something is coming up which is desperately important to this country and to this planet, and that is an election, in which hopefully in some measure we are going to take back our democracy,” he said. “We will have a government that represents us and not the donor class. We will cut through the corruption, [and] we won’t have to do what comes next, which is either a non-violent revolution or a violent one, because this has got to end.”

I don’t think members of the “elite” Realize how many Americans are ready to take him up on that. I don’t think it’s going to go nearly as well as they – Cromwell – think it will.

  1. I’ll happy when the ‘avalanche of political advertising’ is no-longer coming to my mail box.

  2. He may be right but if Cromwell had thought that opinion through with the care it deserves, he’d have prefaced it by admitting “I know I wouldn’t survive the first hour, but…”

What he, and many of his ilk are saying is “If things don’t go the way WE want them to, we will water the tree of liberty with your blood.” As with everything else, leftist reprobates believe someone else will be paying the price for their actions.

These leftist fools have no idea.

  3. On a somewhat related subject.

My eldest son has been making the transition from “Center” to “Center right” for the past couple of years. He’s doing it the same way I did at his age; listening, reading, considering and concluding.

He lives in Minneapolis, and works in an office dominated by leftists. Also like me, he’s at a point where he is engaging leftists in conversation; forcing them to defend their positions.

Last week, he was discussing the “Proud Boys” vs. Antifa with his friends on facebook. They are of the opinion the the PB’s are violent, racist brown shirts who exist only to beat the crap out of peaceful protesters. He pointed out that there are minority and homosexual PB’s, and that all of the video evidence shows willing mutual combat at worst, but more often simple self defence.

One of his friends countered his comments with “I may have to punch you in the face next time we meet.”

    Another step taken.

  4. Gotta love the thinking of people who have no guns and think guns are evil desiring armed conflict with those who do, and who have no apparent clue that the rate at which service members vote Republican–what is it, 70-80%?–might give some indication of whether those soldiers would actually fight against their own families and neighbors.

  5. Cromwell? Violent civil war?

Somewhere I heard that in another context, with despotic, dictatorial rule, dissolution of civic government and appointment of someone with that name as “Lord Protector”, a puppet government, vicious genocidal pogroms against Catholics, massacres of unarmed civilians, moral and spiritual “reform”, and other various niceties. It sounds like this Cromwell hopes to become a different Cromwell.

Personally, I figure that a “New Model Army” might come before, rather than after, this Cromwell comes to power.

  6. In this country there are about three times as many self-identified conservatives as there are self-identified progressives (the last number I saw were 30% to 10%).
Progressives dominate in media and academia, and they tolerate no dissent. Consequently they believe that their opinions are facts, and that they are in the majority.
Their arrogance has made them stupid. If they were popular enough to lead a revolution, they would win at the ballot box. If they could win at the ballot box, they would not need a revolution. Their problem is not and has never been with the US government, their problem is with the American people.

  7. Everyone is Rambo until they find themselves hunkered down in a hole, knee deep in cold muddy water with bullets whizzin over their heads, wishing a rat would swim by so they could have supper.

  8. I get what you’re saying POD; but look at those fags. They’re debauched and probably disease ridden, but they’re physically fit.

And it’s true that they’d probably get mowed down pretty handily for awhile, but they’d learn pretty quick.

I been around long enough, seen enough “cake walks” go to shit to not take anything for granted. I think real Americans would win ACWII, but it would be a bloody mess.

That said, if it’s comin, I hope it’s sooner than later. I don’t want to be another John L. Burns.
