Was in the local branch of a national chain drug store a few weeks ago picking up the colonoscopy ‘kit’ for my spouse while also purchasing a stronger pair of ‘cheaters’ for my rapidly deteriorating eyes.
The Muzak of my drug store clerk yout’ (20 year old version of “Girl from Impanema”, again?!? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJkxFhFRFDA ) had been replaced by “I Wanna Be Sedated” (released 40 years ago now). Where have you gone Joey Ramone, our nation turns it lonely eyes to you, woo, woo, woo (to paraphrase “Mrs. Robinson”, released nearly 50 years ago).
