  1. You’ll talk about a corrupt politician??? After 8 years of Bush, after Sen. Craig and Rep Foley?

Oh, yeah, that’s right, he’s a Democrat and he’s not from NoDak.

  2. Hey Peev, I’ll see your Larry Craig and raise you Ex-Congressman William Jefferson, (D LA).

Ha! I win. Craig isn’t corrupt, he’s just a pervert. So are you slamming homosexuals now in your little love/hate thing with Berg? I always knew you were 180 degrees opposite of tolerant, but that really goes beyond the pale, dontcha think?

  3. Peev,

After you posted your little drive-by about North Dakota, you were pretty quiet about my response; that the story’s pro-Dem spin notwithstanding, it actually showed North Dakota (the second most Republican state in the country) is the *toughest* on corruption; it “studied” corruption convictions per capita.

As usual – I’m right, and you’re completely off in the loopdiland somewhere.

  4. Hey Peev, at 1:00 pm today, call the following number: 651-289-4488. That’s the AM1280 studio line. Tell them you’re a lefty and you want to raise the subject of GOP corruption. I guarantee you’ll be the first call they take.

Of course, given your gutlessness, you’ll probably make some incoherent statement and hang up right away. Can’t engage anyone in debate now, can you?

  5. BTW Mitch, when you belly-ache about corrupt politicians, try worrying about Coleman for a bit.

Peev, I’ll ask again: When the lefty blogs parrot Pelosi and Reid about a GOP “culture of corruption” do you ask why said blogs never lament the likes of Jefferson, Spitzer, Blago, etc?

It’s a rhetorical question, of course. Your disingenuousness obviously prevents such integrity.

  6. try worrying about Coleman for a bit.

    Really, Peev?

So “being investigated” equals “being guilty” of corruption?

There’s a bit of a difference between “federal indictment based on hours of incriminating wiretaps” and the guilt by association that is coming out of the investigation of Coleman which, if you had any integrity, you’d have admitted was (at this point, anyway) a pro forma followup on a Franken smear job during the campaign.

Seriously, Peev – you should write about your kids or cats or gardening or something. Politics is just not your bag. You leave enough loose ends in your “comments” to knit a persian rug.

  7. NEITHER Republicans/ Conservatives nor Democrats / Liberals have a monopoly on corruption. I’m heartily sick of either ‘side’ trying to twist events to malign the side they oppose in the few instances where there ISN’T wrong doing… and I’d say so far, the conservatives and GOP have done slightly more of that in the past year. But only slightly more. There has been too damn much.

There have been scandals in every single administration, AND in the Senate / House sitting at the time as far back as I can remember following current events.

It has never mattered which party was in power, in either branch of government.

The governor of IL is guilty not just of corruption, greed and arrogance, but of breaking the 11th commandment, Thou Shalt not commit Stupidity.

Personally, I don’t find it likely that the Obama administration has any hand in this particular IL corruption. But realistically, someone sooner or later in the Obama administration will screw up just like all the others preceding it.

I’ll be thrilled to my toes if we just get competent and intelligent government for a change, despite whatever scandal(s) du jour pop up, and hope the troubles will be kept to a minimum. So far the Prez Elect at least appears to be looking for merit instead of mediocrity, which I find refreshing.

I have always tried to at least give respect to the office of the presidency, even if I despised the individual in the office at any given time. But this time I have to admit, I had a lot of empathy with the reporter in Iraq that pitched his shoes at Bush. I laughed out loud.
