Couldn’t See This Coming

Submitted without comment:

Former President Jimmy Carter has sent North Korea a message of condolence over the death of Kim Jong-il and wished “every success” to the man expected to take over as dictator, according to the communist country’s state-run news agency

To be fair to the former President, all those concentration camp inmates will make a heck of a market for Habitat for Humanity when they get released.

But Carter was never good at getting people released.  To be fair, Carter probabably think

  1. I think we needs to keep Jimmy Carter around. He’s the perfect dupe to send sincere sympathies to tinpot dictators. Besides, if he couldn’t perform these meaningless acts of pandering, he would be irrelevant and referred to only as the second worst president in history.

  2. I gotta wonder what Jimmah means by “success”. The continued starvation of the North Korean people? Bigger and better nukes? Refining the really ugly suits his dad wore? Which of these?
