Pre-Emption

While there are plenty of individual Democrats who are perfectly fine human beings, the simple fact remains that the Democratic Farmer Labor Party values power first and foremost; integrity, to them, is a luxury that you can fuss with once you get the power.  The only thing that separates the DFL from the Illinois Democratic Party is geography.

They will fight like hell for every vote they can get; they will fight like hell to deny every vote they think might be against them; if playing by the rules won’t work, they will cheat.  The DFL in Minnesota, at its upper levels, is a group of deeply depraved people who would throw The Rights Of Man on the bonfire if it’d get Tarryl Clark into office.

If it’s not close, Hugh Hewitt says, they can’t cheat – but this election is going to be close.  No two ways about it.

One of the ways the GOP gets screwed on elections is via the DFL’s stranglehold on the administration of elections.  From Secretary of State down to the myriad election judges, counters, poll watchers and challengers that keep “order” (of whatever type) at the polling stations and in the counting process, the DFL has its fingers on your ballots from the moment they slip out of your hands.  And while the majority of them are, no doubt, honest, the one-party control of the electoral machinery is a temptation that, I suspect, the MNDFL can not resist.

Janet Beihoffer – former CD2 GOP chair – has been running the effort to recruit and train more GOP election judges, poll watchers and challengers.

And she needs help:

MNGOP has the most R election judges ever (but not enough and many of the new ones were not placed b/c of _____________- fill in the blank). We can take poll challengers and have a proven system for training and assigning them. They can register here: www.mngop.com/edo and must go through training. We will assign them based on the risk ranking of precincts (which I did and distributed to CD chairs in May/June). We also have [a team of lawyers] in place but will take more.

This is something you can do to help clean up this state’s potemkin electoral system.  Please volunteer if you can.

  1. Good plan, Mitch. When you think you’re about to lose an election, preemptively claim that you’re only going to lose because the other side is cheating. that hasn’t worked since 5th grade.

By the way, I can only assume that after this piece, we’ll never have to hear another word from you about ad-hominem attacks.

  2. gosh Jeff what should I believe you or my lying eyes?
One only has to look at the Franken debacle; missing(nonexistent) ballots from Dinky town that get included in the count, wildly different standards for judging ballots between Rock county and Ramsey county, highly subjective and divergent criteria for accepting absentee ballots between Houston and Hennepin counties, the list is long and particularly damaging to your argument Jeff and thats just from one race!

  3. And good plan in turn, Jeff; when you know you’re about to get shellacked, pre-empt all claims of cheating by trying to invalidate them.

Wingnuts, teabaggers, racists – we are still way light on withdrawals from the ad-hominem bank.

  4. I’m an election judge in St. Paul. I’ve also been a poll challenger. DO IT. Make it a part of your yearly election duty. DO IT. It’s just that important. DO IT. Take a half or full day off of work. DO IT. Volunteer to go to south Minneapolis, or Frogtown, or South Saint Paul, or the Iron Range. DO IT.

    It’s that important. DO IT.

  5. Jeff, maybe you folks at the DFL can enlist the New Black Panther party to work the polls. They have experience.

  6. Mitch, since the Strib dumped Kersten, I was hoping to find a conservative blog to visit on a regular basis. It was fun for a while, but between your column and remarks like Kel’s, its clear you’re just a tiny little fringe group of delusional conspiracy theorists. really, you make jesse look mainstream.

Beat of luck to ya. It’s a better use of my time to find out what Perez Hilton has to say about Lindsey Lohan than read these half-baked rants. And you wonder why your just a “Shot in the Dark”?

  7. Forewarned is forearmed, Jeff.

BTW; I guess the reason your MNPubic reader doesn’t know about the looming moonbat disaster in the 8th CD is because you’re glued to SITD, eh kiddo?

  8. Ears,

You’re really my mother, aren’t you?

It’s a better use of my time to find out what Perez Hilton has to say about Lindsey Lohan

In your case, you may actually have a point.

    My heart will go on.

Don’t let the closing http session hit your butt on the way out.

  9. It’s a better use of my time to find out what Perez Hilton has to say about Lindsey Lohan
In other words, Ears is a typical lefty/Democrat. Gutless and devoid of imagination.

  10. Earsall;

Well, thanks for stopping by! Don’t think it hasn’t been fun seeing your posts, because it hasn’t!

  11. It’s sadder when those on the left can’t really promote a position and are forced to declare “ts clear you’re just a tiny little fringe group of delusional conspiracy theorists” without actually making one salient point to support it.
Sheesh, even Dog tries to defend her misguided opinion.

  12. golly ears;
if the damaged juvenile prattling of Perez Hilton is your speed more power to you.

This is a site where you should expect to have your assertions challenged and where you should expect often blunt, direct discourse. In short it’s a site for adults who don’t have fragile egos.

As Kermit points out Dog Gone (a frequent leftist poster) certainly holds her own and gives as good as she gets, without getting all hurt and storming off with all her marbles. But then unlike you she’s not a little girl.

  13. Pffft. Another leftist tosser hits the eject button.

Ears, since we know you’re still out there, may I suggest you become a fixture at Centrisity? The level of discourse found there is sure to be more to your taste, and moonbat Flush could use the company.

    See? I helped; I’m a helper.

  14. “While there are plenty of individual Democrats who are perfectly fine human beings, the simple fact remains that the Democratic Farmer Labor Party values power first and foremost; integrity, to them, is a luxury that you can fuss with once you get the power. ”

Unlike the party you support Mitch? The one where Boehner hands out tobacco company checks on the floor of the House of Representatives to his Republican colleagues?

Kermit – an alternate choice would be the armed thugs, who brought more serioius weapons than a little stick, and who did more to actively intimidate voters than the stupid New Black Panthers…who were cleared by the police, the local DA, ad infinitum of doing anything significant.

By all means, I hope there are poll watchers out there, the more the better. It would be surprising if any amount of republican or tea party watchers come up with examples of voter fraud.

You are all still believing that fantasy that democrats are criminals who vote illegally, from the misrepresentation of studies which showed:

    1. that people voting illegally is extremely rare, including felons who are disenfranchised.

    2. very few felons vote when they regain the franchise, but of those few, more vote – legally – for democratic candidates, aproximately 2 to 1.

    3. that when felons regain their franchise and do vote legally, far fewer of them are likely to reoffend, compared to those who do not vote……which I think speaks well of the democrats helping people by reducing recidivism.

Ears, you – or Mitch’s mom – are welcome anytime over at penigma.blogspot.com, a moderate blog. (We’d LOVE to have your mom ‘visit’!)

I like it here; Swiftee is a bit of a one-trick pony sometimes, but I just smile and keep reading. The others are pretty interesting folks, and I like them. I find it more fun not to expect political conformity from my friends; it saves on arguments and disappointment.

    (Thanks Kel.)

  15. Whoops – sorry Kermit – dropped a line – that should have read “the CONSERVATIVE thugs in Arizona……..who came armed with guns not a little stick”
