What A Difference A Month Makes
By Mitch Berg
Two conversations with a DFLer acquaintance of mine.
March, 2010: “Well, of course I call them “teabaggers”. Some of them sent bags of tea to Congresspeople! Why, I have no idea whatever you could be taking offense at! Honest!”
April, 2010: “Did you hear that Rush Limbaugh calls the Administration “The Obama Regime? Why, that’s not just insulting – that’s seditious!”

If it wasn’t for double standards…

Obermann threw a fit over the word “regime”, so the NRO guys/gals put together a montage of Democrats using that word to describe President Bush, that lost one was Obermann using the word to attack Bush.

Yeah, I think Bush Regime was common on the Left. They really are weenies, they can dish it out but can’t take it.

I doubt it makes much of a difference. From those two conversations it seems as if all you need to do is to look up the Tics latest talking points to hear what your friend’s next opinion and comment will be.

Oops, I would be remiss if I didn’t point out this ironic point in violence: politicians in Chicago are calling for the National Guard to be deployed to quell the wave of violence there.
But wait, that’s not possible! Chicago is a progressive city ruled by Democrats and effectively all arms are banned there! How could Democratic nirvana be so threatened? It must be all those Tea-Partyers who are invading Chicago from the suburbs that are causing the problems.

I prefer to call it The Obama Oligarchy.

Now come on, Nerdbert. It could do a lot of good if they shut down City Hall–the crime rate would drop precipitously.

Yeah, I think Bush Regime was common on the Left.
Unless of course those cars with “Regime Change Begins At Home” bumper stickers are owned by and being driven by Republicans 😉

The National Guard is being called in, but they won’t be able to bring their guns…unless they’re a friend of a City Councilman.

US out of Chicago!
US out of Chicago!
US out of Chicago!

Incidentally Mitch, some of the left is trying out “Teahadists” instead of “Teabaggers” now. It sounds exceptionally stupid, but I wasn’t expecting a lot from people who thought that trolling the Urban Dictionary for slurs was going to save them in November.
