Take The “W”

It’s been a rough 3-7 years to be a conservative, a Republican, an originalist.

An American who believes in what America was intended to be, really.

But let’s enjoy some good news. This past two weeks have been a speedbump – it’s way to early to say “Battle of Waterloo” – for “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” (DEI), the Neo-Marxist corporate obedience training and consultant-enrichment racket masquerading as a business practice.

Charles C.W. Cooke on why Claudine Gay’s pre-emptive ouster at Harvard matters:

That Harvard lost this one ought to serve as a warning to those who have convinced themselves that the purpose of the American citizenry is to furnish a few members of a distant caste with ever-increasing tithes and never to ask how they are being spent. Commenting on the affair, Khalil Gibran Muhammad, “a professor of history, race and public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School,” told the New York Times that the architects of Claudine Gay’s ouster “will only be emboldened by Gay’s resignation.” If, by this, Muhammad means that they will no longer be willing to tolerate brazen double standards, open racial discrimination, and the subjugation of the entire human experience to a vicious scheme of antediluvian identity considerations, then he is absolutely correct. They will be emboldened, and they deserve to be. Claudine Gay did what she was accused of having done, and nobody has denied it. The critics were the good guys. Let’s hope they come back for more.

That was a nice appetizer, to be honest.

I do want more.

  1. It was no more than an appetizer and is probably the end of the meal.

KGM’s comments (to the NY Times) were not a surrender. They were intended to rally the troops (think John Paul Jones). That they should do better at tolerating brazen double standards, openly discriminating by race, and the subjugating of the entire human experience to a vicious scheme of antediluvian identity considerations.

The one thing (that I know of) that will keep the fight alive (the “no longer” part of the CCWC’s comment above) is that DemoCommies always go too far when they fight back. The Gestapo Media (at Business Insider) went after Bill Ackman’s wife (Bill Ackman is a billionaire Democrat and Harvard donor who was central to keeping up the pressure. More here

They did, but in doing so they pissed off the owner, Axel Springer, who also owns Politico, as well as the German publications, Bild and Die Welt.

Springer is calling for a “review” which is polite speak for a lynching.

    Expect changes at BI.

  4. It’s behind a pay-wall, still Article on Bill Ackman’s Wife Triggers Tensions Between Business Insider and Owner

WSJ: Since acquiring Business Insider nine years ago, Axel Springer has largely steered clear of intervening in the news outlet’s editorial operations, even when high-profile people objected to unflattering articles about them.

That hasn’t been the case in recent days.

The German media company said it is reviewing the process and motivations behind a recent BI article accusing designer and former professor Neri Oxman of plagiarism. The review comes amid complaints from Oxman’s husband, the hedge fund billionaire Bill Ackman, about the publication’s reporting tactics.

  5. At first, I thought it might just be a case of one billionaire doing a favor for another, but then:

Axel Springer’s main corporate principles include support for Israel. The company requires its German employees to sign a written commitment to those principles. While U.S. employees aren’t required to sign the pledge, Döpfner told The Wall Street Journal after Axel Springer acquired Politico that he expected its staffers to adhere to the principles, which also include support for a united Europe and a free-market economy.
