Watching The Tectonic Plates Shift

Crosstabs from the California recall vote include some potentially troublesome news for Democrats:

Now, it’s entirely possible that Newsome’s patrician behavior during a lockdown that disproportionally affected Latinos is partly, even largely, the cause.

But we know a couple of things:

  • Latinos become much more conservative after a generation or two in the US
  • They tend to be more hawkish than Whites on the subject of border enforcement (but, notably, not deportation)

Did the Newsome recall, and the largely Democrat-led pandemic response that has disproportionally impacted Latino society, accelerate this trend?

    When I lived in Texas, my Office Manager was a 50 ish Hispanic woman. Her parents brought her and her siblings, into the U.S. in the late 50s. Her parents became citizens the old fashioned way, they paid and studied. I met her family and to a person, they despised “wet backs” that were here illegally. They also had no reservations about booting them back across the Rio Grande. She claimed that most of her neighbors felt the same way.

    Recall election fail gives me hope that most CA cars with hitches I see around the neighbourhood are of the right persuasion. This would explain the libturd overload percentage-wise. So no, I do not believe there is any chance CA flipping despite the very clear trend in Latino voting switch. Well, that and 100% mail-in-voting.

    Newsome signed legislation yesterday that codifies mail-in balloting in perpetuity.

    Not even leftists with an IQ >80 believe that was to make elections better for anyone but Democrats. Short of an armed insurrection, California will never have an effective “loyal opposition” ever again.

    I find it comical that Liberals lecture Conservatives on the absolute moral imperitive to treat all people as special individuals, not lump them into broad categories, when that’s exactly how Liberals do it.

    All the little brown Spanish-speaking people are alike, right? Why would Mexicans hate Guatemalans and want the border enforced to keep them out?

    All the darkies are alike, right? Why would Ethopians and Eritreans despise Somalis and all of them hate African-American descendants of slavery?

    All the slant-eyes are alike, right? Why would Japanese and Taiwanese hate Han Chinese?

    All the pale English-speaking people are alike, right? Why would the Irish, Welsh and Scots hate the English and all of them sneer at Canadians?

    Centuries of history, culture, religion, conflict, prejudice and war are irrelevent; the only thing that matters is They All Look Alike To Me.

    Comical.

    the obvious enhancement to Voting Rights that Emery and the Pelosi Elites should be pushing through with this budget bill is “No Vax, No Vote”! Strip the right to vote from the non-vaxers.

    I wouldn’t make that assumption. There seems to be a lot of Texas plates around town. I’m thinking any Texan that moves to Minnesota, is either an illegal alien or lefties that don’t think they can turn Texas blue. A couple from Washington state moved into my brother in law’s neighborhood in Eden Prairie in late 2019. During the election, their yard and fences were plastered with Biden signs. The fact that more lefties are moving here, doesn’t bode well for us.
    This is kinda on topic, but our transplant Senator Tina Smith, has signed on with commie Ed Markey from Massachusetts, to increase the SCOTUS to 13, stating that she’s “very alarmed that the court has been politicized”. What a fraud!

    She’s just upset that it was politicized in the opposite direction of what she preferred.
