Shot in the Dark

“Safe, Legal and Rare”

The Bad News: The DFL ran on abortion last fall, and won,.

The Worse News: They’re making hay with that “Mandate”, working to remove protections in Minnesota law for infants actually born alive:

The “Born Alive Infants Protection Act” was passed by the Minnesota Legislature in 2015. It states that abortion survivors should be fully recognized as human persons and provided with medical care to preserve their lives.

Rep. Tina Liebling, DFL-Rochester, wants to repeal these protections because they are an “insult” to doctors, she said during a House Health Committee meeting Thursday.

Her bill would also repeal restrictions on the use of public funds for abortion and a requirement that aborted babies be “disposed” of in a “dignified and sanitary” manner.

So not only can DFL doctors murder babies on their way out of the birth canal, they can dump the bodies wherever they want to. Hey, that’s progress.

The Good News, Maybe: After this session, there won’t be a whole lot more abortion for the DFL to run on.

The Worse News: I expect the DFL to run on legalizing murder of children up to age 13. Unless they’re transgender.

Nothing exposes the craven evil of the DemoCommies like the topic of abortion…

LOL, they’re been running on GOPers taking away Gramma’s Social Security since it began.

Abortion should be legal, safe and rare …. and a decision made by women aided by their doctors. Not politicians.

It’s kind of nice when a party runs supporting a change, gets elected and then follows through.

So, when exactly did your life acquire, moral worth, Emery?

    Not some clump of cells.

    You. Personally.

When did your life becomes something other than chattel for your mother to dispose of at her whim?

    Simple question.

For the majority of voters there’s no controversy on this. “Sincerely held” is not a good excuse.

For a large part of last year Republicans lectured the rest of us about “States Rights” in their rationalization of overturning Roe vs. Wade, even though the Supreme Court actually took away the Individual rights of sovereignty over women’s own bodies.

We also got lectured on how abortion rights “Should have” been codified. Well Republicans, in this Bill is your answer. There is no way women should lose control over their own bodies to someone else’s Religious beliefs, that’s just UnAmerican.

⬆️ The DFL (as previously suggested by the GOP) is codifying women’s rights to access healthcare based on decisions made by a woman and her doctor, not decisions made by judges, politicians, other people’s religions, random people on the street, and other unqualified individuals.

By all means — the GOP should continue to campaign on this issue. This is what Minnesotans want, and they proved it in the last election. Elections have consequences, and Republicans failed utterly with their slate of clown-car candidates and their “sincerity held” beliefs/position on abortion.

    pig,
the Emerys can’t answer in individual mode only in collective mode (see above).

If one of the Emerys were to answer as an individual they would have to confess said failure at a struggle session and schedule themselves for reeducation.

A question I’d put to my liberal friends, if they hadn’t canceled and ghosted me already, is what advice they would have given to Barack Obama’s mother if abortion has been legal in Hawaii in 1959? Keep the baby or abort the clump of cells so your career might have suffered? Or what crime is committed by a man shooting a pregnant woman almost at her due date?

Wisconsin has far stricter abortion laws than MN. The 2022 election did nothing to change that.
Minnesota is the outlier, not the norm.

killing blacks should be legal, safe and rare …. and a decision made by white supremacists aided by their accomplice klansmen members. not politicians. for the majority of southrn democrat voters there’s no controversy on this. “sincerely held” is not a good excuse.

nope the rationale doesn’t get any better by changing the subject of the murder
    still reprehensible
    still official democrat party policy

Man, Mitch, what a powerful argument. I’d change the word chattel to something else but only because most people don’t know what it means.

And golfdoc’s argument too. Very good.

    I’m stealing both these arguments.

Again, Emery, when did your life acquire value so your mother would not be allowed to end it? Answer the question.

Question 2: under what logic do we compel pro-life taxpayers to contribute funds to abortion?

Since there is no reference to abortion In the constitution, the Supreme Court ruled that the states can determine what rules and laws they want, and most states have retained the right to abortion.

Overturning Roe vs Wade was a classic case of the dog catching the car for Republicans. They ran on it because they believed it would never be changed, so it got their voters motivated without having to sacrifice anything. Not so much anymore. Now they are stuck with the decision. It is on Republicans, and Republicans alone. Forever.

I saw that a slight variation of Mitch’s argument was used in the MN state Senate.

    https://alphanews.org/pro-abortion-senator-declines-to-state-when-an-unborn-baby-becomes-a-person/

Pro-abortion senator declines to state when an unborn baby becomes a person
“Senator, I don’t think that’s an appropriate question. I will not answer that,” she said.

Interesting that a discussion to decide the conditions of which an unborn baby can be murdered is inappropriate, but not murdering the unborn.

Nah. The backlash from the SCOTUS case played out. The Dems may try to manufacture more outrage over it, but the overreach going on today is going to generate its own back-backlash.

Funny! That ignorant twit has children. Based on the zany reasons that we’ve seen over the years from DemoCommie controlled Children’s Social Services, I think a case can be made for a visit to her house for alleged child abuse.

Boss, unless child is found reading Atlas Shrugged, there is no basis for child abuse. Child can be subjected to incest, forced to eat bugs, whack off a weener and OD on drugs and CSS won’t lift a finger, but Rand! That’s a crime against humanity!

I have no more interest in what Christian theology says about an embryo than what the Wiccans or any other religion might say.

Every anti-choice argument eventually rests on a concept of ensoulment. American law should not be based on anyone’s theology.

The actual heart of the debate is whether girls and women are human beings with equal rights under law.

rAT squeaked: “It is a woman’s right to choose. It is not a man’s. It is not the right of society.”

Right. So if your mom happened to see your comments on SiTD, and realize she had given birth to an ignorant, lying piece of shit, she’d be within her rights to toss a toaster into your bathtub…on that, we both agree.

But what if she cast her wise, womanly eyes upon your 75IQ offspring, and realized they are just as fetid and useless as you. If she extrapolated her rights and cleared them out with a shotgun, should society stfu and mind it’s own business?

  35. bikebubba Avatar
    bikebubba

So if indeed it’s the woman’s right to choose, when does that right end? And why? Tell us, Emery. At birth? A month after? A year after? A decade?

Keep in mind regarding your claim “if you were a woman, you’d get it”, that pro-life sentiments are actually stronger among women than among men–which is exactly what one would guess if one believed that abortion is often a man’s ticket out of paying for the upkeep of his illegitimate children.

  36. bosshoss429 Avatar
    bosshoss429

It’s worth noting that the majority of the men supporting abortions, are DemoCommies. They want their women available and able to erase their mistakes, because use protection? Not them! “It’s up to the woman.” I base this on a variety of sources. I saw this exact quote in an article a few years ago, comments from a couple of acquaintances and friends, both male and female.
