Walz and the DFL love it. You can look forward to new ‘public health emergencies’ being declared on a regular basis, until Walz & his accomplices are tossed out of office or until your GOP senators grow a pair and end the sham democracy.
Planned economies run by bureaucrats in Party Headquarters always end up with health care rationing.
If required to defend his actions (which will sadly never happen), Walz will be able to blame everything on the modeling software that the U built for the state, and that we aren’t allowed to see.
One could think of blaming the private sector, but overall, the number of hospital beds is set by the state. This is on Gov. Klink in toto.
It also suggests that somebody ought to set up a COVID ward to help out and dare the governor to refuse to use it. The restrictions are there to keep hospital rooms open; the number available has dwindled. Why would we refuse to fix this problem? In medicine, physical capital like this is generally cheap compared to wages.
Just wait until January when the Governor announces a new 5 Year Plan to address the crisis.

As long as Gazelka holds the reins of the senate majority sleigh, it won’t happen. I doubt even someone as staunchly conservative as Dan Hall, would have been willing to say “As long as the governor keeps this state locked down, no bill shall pass on the senate floor”. I honestly don’t know if there is a single R senator who would have enough of a spine to do that in a leadership role. Benson has put up a good fight against DHS, but she wouldn’t shut down the senate. Neither would Kiffmeyer. Housley? Maybe. Korin? I don’t have a feel for his senatorial style yet.
All 4 members of The New House Republican Caucus sure as hell would. But they’re in the wrong chamber.
