Taking Stock

So let’s take stock of where were at in the Biden administration so far:

  • Our shelves are getting kinda bare. “But Merg – you couldn’t find toilet paper during the last year of Drumpf’s regime”. Yep – for free market reasons that actually made sense. Try again.
  • The borders are in effect open.
  • We have a de facto hostage crisis
  • The Taliban in back in control in Afghanistan
  • Fuel costs aren’t just rising, they’re skyrocketing.
  • Public education is getting even worse.
  • The social divides that erupted in violence during the Obama regime have escalated.
  • Indeed, inflation is back for the first time since my freshman year of college.
  • The executive branch, which as been too poiwerful for a long time, is starting to act on that fact.
  • After a year of government acting like a scolding “Karen” of a neighbor and “two weeks to flatten the curve”, not only has Covid gone nowhere, but the economic effects of lockdowns are getting worse.
  • The workforce – one of the four key pillars of the economy, along with land, capital and management – has been “unintentionally” distorted far out of whack, with dire consequences.
  • China is ratting its sabers as never before.

What am I missing?

  1. Wondering when those 3rd world immigrants decide to go back because their native countries are better run.

  2. Let’s not forget how the Brandon Administration is imposing itself onto local school board politics by declaring parental involvement as domestic terrorism.

  3. Or that Fresh off months of actions that included calls to end the use of fossil fuels and killing the Keystone Pipeline and other energy initiatives, the Biden administration is now, according to Reuters, asking Big Oil and others for some help

  4. JDM, I love that one, too. It’s as if Biden is saying “well, let’s ignore the fact that I’m needlessly reducing supply, would you guys please cut your profits so that customers don’t vote against me?” If I were at one of the oil companies, I’d release a recording of the call/copy of the note and say “Mr. Biden, you can pound sand–there are things you can do to rectify the situation.”

  5. And this just in, Joe Biden could become embroiled in the FBI’s probe into Hunter’s finances, experts say: Emails reveal they SHARED bank accounts, paid each other’s bills and the president may have even have funded his son’s 2018 drug and prostitution binge

I really like the part about how F Joe Biden “could” become embroiled. Hope springs eternal, guys!

  6. Plus court packing is being discussed seriously again, some committee came out with a report recently.

But Trump was ruining democracy, right?

  7. kinlaw, of course they work. They’re working exactly according to the Plan. (insert eye-rolling emoji). Po’ folk are so much easier to please.

  8. kinlaw;
Yup and one of our own do nothing Senators, Tina Smith, was the first one to sign on to MA Commie Senator Ed Markey’s proposal to pack the court. Her reasoning was “due to the unconstitutional actions of Texas to limit women’s reproductive rights.”

On another note, this is an amusing little ditty.

  9. “due to the unconstitutional actions of Texas to limit women’s reproductive rights.”
People keep saying that, but when you ask them to point out where you find reproductive rights in the constitution, they can’t do it.
