Maybe it was crazy but my thinking was that one of the best ways to get young men to go see a movie was to tell them they should not be allowed to see it. What ensued was several months of chaos and controversy that ultimately drove Tucker’s book to #1 on the New York Times Bestseller list, sold out a multi-college bus tour and ultimately sold millions of dollars worth of tickets, dvds and books.
It was a masterful bit of trolling that admittedly felt a lot more meaningful and exciting when I was younger than it does to me today: We encouraged protests at colleges by sending outraged emails to various activist groups and clubs on campuses where the movie was being screened. We sent fake tips to Gawker, which dutifully ate them up. We created a boycott group on Facebook that acquired thousands of members. We made deliberately offensive ads and ran them on websites where they would be written about by controversy-loving reporters. After I began vandalizing some of our own billboards in Los Angeles, the trend spread across the country, with parties of feminists roving the streets of New York to deface them (with the Village Voice in tow)…I’ve never seen so much publicity. It was madness.
I need to amend the old statement:
“None of us are as dumb as all of us – except all of our “elites””.
Reminds me of Buckley’s little old lady explanation. Liberals truly cannot understand the difference between us and them.
When Liberals want to pretend there are hate crimes, they commit hate crimes and then publicize their own crimes (without admitting they committed them). True, these are not actual hate crimes, they’re more like publicity stunts, but they raise awareness that there COULD be hate crimes, so we should give money to Liberals to fight hate crimes, in case they are about to happen. And when caught, that’s inevitably the excuse; wasn’t really hate, just raising awareness.
When Milo offers to give a speech explaining why Liberalism is wrong, he don’t need to deface his own billboards or hire thugs to assault his guests to generate publicity, Liberals do that for him. Those are actual hate crimes, actually being committed out of hatred for another person’s message.
Claiming that Liberal fake hate crimes are the exact same thing as Liberal real hate crimes is evidence of the inability to distinguish right from wrong. That’s a form of mental illness. Why isn’t he locked up, for his own good?
Is there a federal office of “Trolling?” I have a nominee.

Yiannopoulos is an anti-Lefty Shock Jock Professional Troll. The idea that he set up a false flag attack against his own event is ludicrous.
1) He doesn’t need to bring in his own thugs. There are plenty of people on the left that will commit these crimes.
2) The liberals in the media and academia will turn over every stone they can find or create to try and blame him for this. The risk of being found out is too great.
3) Occam’s Razor.
Bonus) The man floating this idea is a left-wing hack with zero credibility and plenty of incentive to smear Milo. (That man is Robert Reich, the chancellor’s professor of public policy at Berkeley and former labor secretary during the Clinton administration.)
