The Message We’re Receiving

To: All you Normies
From: The Elites
Re: Die, For All We Care

Proles/knaves/fyrds,

Your life, property and family, mere peasant, are not of enough value that we, your elites, should allow you a $500 handgun to protect them.

However, ours – we elites – are of such value that dropping double the income of a typical American household is perfectly fine:

Luxury real estate agent Branden Williams said protection dogs have become so popular among his mega-wealthy clients in L.A. that he’s now in the market for one himself, especially after a neighbor was robbed at gunpoint in Beverly Hills. Williams has tasked the same broker his mom used to buy her protection dog, a German shepherd imported from Germany, with finding him a suitable animal this year.

“I will say they’re not cheap; the ones I’m looking at are between $60,000 and $100,000,” he said. “It’s a whole other level of training; we’re not talking about doggy day care here.”

Just so you know the hierarchy of the universe.

(BTW – kudos to Lisa Bender, who at least got the spirit of things right, advocating gun control while getting private security on the taxpayer’s dime. Well done, Ms. Bender) .

Regards,

Your Betters

Ha! Lame brained Lisa has nothing on the likes of “Andrea” Jenkins, Philipe Cunningham and squad member Cori Bush spending butt tons of money on private security. Bush, a rabid supporter of defunding the police, just married one of hers and in being hammered for paying him with campaign funds. The typical DemoCommie hypocrisy continues on all levels.

I dunno. I think this story has an interesting angle from a completely different perspective.

Think about it: people who live in exclusive areas like Beverly Hills with the income/wealth to buy a dog for “between $60,000 and $100,000” can’t get sufficient or appropriate police protection or a functioning justice system (and, I’d assert that they are also against guns of any sort for personal protection).

This implies to me – OK, OK, I’m inferring – that the bureaucrats and politicians running CA are total monsters who existence disproves Hanlon’s Razor such that both evil and stupidity can be present.

I don’t care that this is OT, but it is about messaging and tar and feathering… nay, quartering is too kind for these monsters:

The Telegraph summarizes some of the WhatsApp content:

[Secretary of State for Health and Social Care] Matt Hancock wanted to “deploy” a new Covid variant to “frighten the pants off” the public and ensure they complied with lockdown, leaked messages seen by The Telegraph have revealed.
    ***
In a WhatsApp conversation on Dec 13, obtained by The Telegraph, Damon Poole – one of Mr Hancock’s media advisers – informed his boss that Tory MPs were “furious already about the prospect” of stricter Covid measures and suggested “we can roll pitch with the new strain”.

The comment suggested that they believed the strain could be helpful in preparing the ground for a future lockdown and tougher restrictions in the run-up to Christmas 2020.

Mr Hancock then replied: “We frighten the pants off everyone with the new strain.”

Mr Poole agreed, saying: “Yep that’s what will get proper bahviour [sic] change.”
    ***
Mr Hancock expressed his worry that talks over Brexit would dominate headlines and reduce the impact, and probed Mr Poole for his media advice. “When do we deploy the new variant,” asked Mr Hancock.

Cops and feds don’t stop to consider the price of a dog before they summarily shoot it.

Against an armed intruder (uniformed and otherwise), a dog buys you time to arm yourself at best. Most any dog will do that inherently.

As an added benefit to purchasing your Deutscher Schäferhund for $60+k is that you get to privilege signal your friends by issuing commands in german; sitzen, bleiben, kommen, angreifen, aufhören, etc. Think how that will impress folks.

My thought is that if you need to drop more on a dog than many people spend on their homes, maybe it’s time to consider moving your company to a place where your employees can live safely. LA has great ethnic foods and a great climate, but if that climate includes being robbed and killed, count me out.

I remember living out there in 1994 and 1995,and when the Raiders left LA, I was joking that football fans would need to buy a bulletproof vest and go to high school games. I was somewhat taken aback when, instead of giving me the dirty looks I expected, my friends just agreed with me. And apparently it’s getting worse.

    bike,
That is just one of the reasons that Cali has had net losses in population for the past three years.
