Costs

Joe Doakes from Como Park emails:

I used $20 of electricity but my bill is nearly $50 because of the taxes and extra fees, including an “affordability” charge.

If you’re trying to make my bill more affordable, shouldn’t that be subtracted instead of added?

Joe Doakes

It’s not about making your bill, or any of our bills, more affordable. It’s about transferring money to the political class, and those whose first they need.

But Joe knows that.

One of the main reasons land lines are dying is because you can get 2 cell phone lines for less than the price of one land line. It’s not the cost of providing the land line, though, it’s all the fees that have been added to the land line bill (the Universal Access Fee to enable building out rural telephone service added years ago still is in there, just as an example).
