    So there’s a truck convoy headed to DC this weekend. And, Oh! They’ve taken a lesson from the Canadians:

    They’ve made it crystal clear to the public on both sides of the border that you use any financial service at the pleasure of the scumbags in control of the men wearing the body armor and holding the guns and truncheons.

    It’s easy to move fiat currency out of bank accounts, and maintain just enough to handle debit card and check expenditures on a weekly or monthly basis. But those of us with large retirement investment portfolio’s this is really bad news.

    Liquidating fat 401K’s and annuities will cost a bundle, but given the present circumstances it may well be the lesser of two evils.

    In any case, if you’re not investigating alternatives, you’re a fool.

    You’re right Twat—I made the darn fool mistake (again) of taking profits at the end of December 2021 from my S&P (VFIAX) Roth 401K and my S&P (VINIX) 401K with my former employer.

    Now that we’re in correction territory I’ll get back in. Time in the market beats timing the market. 😂

    Re Emery’s 8:06 – it’s not quite the good news it sounds.

    Canada froze accounts of people allegedly involved in the protest – without warrants, hearings, evidence, or recourse. That will show them, damned protesters.

    Ordinary Canadians interpreted banks seizing deposits at whim to mean their own deposits were at risk. Every major bank suffered a bank run and all of them went offline. Nobody could get their money out.
