“SCIENCE! CNN finally admits cloth mask don’t stop Covid!”

The late stages of this pandemic have seen, and will see more, of what used to be as accepted as heresy by Big Karen quietly being proclaimed as gospel.

There’s been a steady stream: it’s not spread by surface contact; It’s spread by nontrivial contact in confined spaces; acquired immunity works.

And masks might be perfectly adequate personal infection control under the right circumstances, but they are a useless public health measure.

And I will be in particular gratified to see cloth masks recognized as better landfill than infection control.

    Way, way back in the beginning of the panic over-reaction to Covid, some of us pointed out that the life cycle of viral infections follows a predictable pattern, illustrated by Farr’s Law which was formulated nearly 200 years ago. And viral mutation of respiratory illness (deadly to mild) is well established as consistent with evolutionary theory – after all, a respiratory virus which kills its host can’t survive, meaning the viruses which do survive are those which are milder and spread more easily, like the common cold. Every year, respirtory illnesses like pneumonia, emphysema, influenza and now Covid, kill primarily the frail elderly.

    Recognizing this virus follows the pattern of all other respiratory viruses means we should have treated it like every other respiratory virus. We should have quarantined the sick and let the healthy go free. We should have left children in school and kept stores and restaurants open. Yes, thousands would have died but they died anyway, even with the strictest lockdown measures. Frail old people die, nothing we can cure by masks or social distance.

    Everything we did was wrong. Scientists knew it from the start and warned us in The Great Barrington Declaration. Why did politicians ignore the science? Who benefitted from terrorizing voters in 2020? Who benefits from pivoting away from terror toward pacifying voters in 2022? Who are the biggest champions of The Ever Shifting Covid Narrative?

    At this point, It should be a given that none of the lockdown orders, business closures, and masking mandates had a significant effect on fatalities.
    Why did governors lockdown?
    It was popular,or at polls said that was what the people wanted.
    But it never made any sense. If the purpose was to keep hospitals from being overwhelmed, well, what good were the hospitals supposed to do? All they could do was give you oxygen (easy) or hook you up to a ventilator (25% death rate, long term ill effects). We were shutting down hospitals and canceling all elective surgery and appointments.
    I think that “public health officials” had it drilled into them that their first responsibility was to protect the hospitals, doctors, and nurses, and herd mentality took over.

    EI, hydroxychloroquine was released in 1955, a full 15 years or so before the fetal stem cell line in question was extracted from the corpse of a child who was allegedly aborted. Ivermectin was originally a veterinary medicine. Hence neither uses that fetal stem cell line.

    Got any more insanely stupid claims to make, buddy?

    How long do you think it will take for environazis to ban masks because wildlife gets tangled in them and dies, a la sixpack soft plastic rings? Also, all those masks littering the environment are a freaking BIOHAZARD! But shhhhh…. science™ at work!
