Time To Secede…

…from the mainstream media. 

Big Media have almost completely blacked out coverage of the Johnathan Gruber scandal.  Of course, that’s the part that you see on the evening newscasts (if you still watch them; it’s been close to ten years since I’ve watched any). 

Behind the scenes?  The national media has the same approach the local media takes on issues that redound to Democrat disadvantage (emphasis added):

On the web, name reporters from [NBC and ABC] have chosen a blackout or ridicule approach. NBC News’ crack team of political reporters led by Mark Murray and Chuck Todd have covered their eyes and ears. ABC political director Rick Klein can’t be bothered either. However, John Harwood took a more direct approach:

Six million healthcare plans lost on an admitted and oft-repeated lie, and this isn’t news to them. Enough is enough.

They have chosen, like most scandals involving the Obama Administration, to report on the Republican reaction and “overreach” instead of on the story of itself.

It’s significant – and not in a good way – that the only Obama scandal the media has come close to taking seriously is the allegations that the Administration spied on, lied to and has been opaque with the media. 

Because lying about your doctor and Benghazi is one thing; being forthcoming to ones’ media benefactors is serious business:

Gruber, to whom the administration deferred on dozens of occasions to speak for them, admitted the only way ACA could be passed was to lie to stupid American voters. American voters have figured out the lie, as demonstrated by the results of the 2014 midterm elections. But the only group left defending the Obamacare catastrophe is the media by now ignoring Gruber.

This isn’t bias. This is malfeasance and corruption.

It is long past time for the GOP to stop bothering with the mainstream media.  No more GOP primary debates on ABC; no more agreeing to Democrat ticket-punchers like Candy Crowley in presidential debates, and if possible no more presidential debates on the Big Three or CNN. 

Starve the beast now!

    At the very least, the GOP and conservatives in general should demand to control their presentation on MSM political programming. No more quietly accepting biased moderators at debates. No more appearing on Sunday morning political shows. No more interviews with Chuck Todd.
    Chris Matthews was a democrat operative before he became a journalist. So was Tim Russert.
    Don’t be stupid, people. The people are your friends, the MSM is your enemy.

    It’s not starving the beast, it’s recognizing that it’s no use saying “Nice doggie” to a Rottweiler while he’s chewing off your leg.

    It’s just time now? I remember receiving a bunch of “Impeach Rather” bumper stickers back around 1988 when I was in college. Not surprisingly, that’s about when Rush really got going. People started to realize that there was a whole world out there of information that we didn’t hear on the networks and in the NY Times and such.

    Quite frankly, while Fox is better than average, the number of unasked questions I see there just floor me.

    The reason I have turned off TV news and particularly the Sunday talk shows is the complete lack of information they provided. A friend of mine likens them to a high school party where the best insult wins the day.
    To me (at least) it’s news that our best and brightest (TM) government officials know so little about the insurance business, setting up websites and business in general. These are not topics one has to confer with the Heritage Foundation or Brookings Institution about.
    For example: It was ‘news’ the other day that Mayor Chris Coleman has reached out to a consultant to figure out how to plow St. Paul’s streets. This consultant is catching a 6-figure fee to collect data on what’s wrong and how people feel about it (insert joke regarding consultants & watches here). 1st revelation – towing services go after the cars parked illegally closest to the impound lots mostly if not exclusively. I’m guessing the Humphrey School doesn’t teach the lesson of Low Hanging Fruit in a Flat Fee for Service Environment.
    Now I don’t know about you, but given the fact that St Paul hasn’t built many new streets in the past few decades, I would have imagined that the Public Works Dept. would have had snow plowing down, um, cold. When I discuss public spending with the Lib/Progs, most reply “why Seve, what about that street you drove here on or the freeway your tortillas were trucked to the store via”? “News” story’s like this remind one that the government workers don’t even know how to manage the streets they point to as shining examples of government working it’s best.
