I just listened to your piece with the reporter and the congressional candidate on podcast. Great work! Wow, did that hit close to home. I'm going through a divorce now with so much of the same things. One thing that I took from it away from the politics of it is that it gave me is hope that I can do as well as Mr. Fine in fighting for my child.

Being on the receiving end of a mistaken government (earnest, but mistaken police officers in Fine's case) is great training for any future US congressman. And, going through the effort of actually getting the government's mistake expunged from the record was an even greater education for Fine. It was an awful way to learn what can go wrong, but now Fine knows first hand that some people will always find ways to misuse the laws that he writes.
