Somehow, the Twins of Jason Tyner, Dennys Reyes and Boof Bonser made it to the playoffs.I love autumn when the Twins are in the chase... Posted by Mitch at September 26, 2006 05:47 AM | TrackBackEveryone who loves baseball played with skill and passion -- everyone who loves a good story -- should have synchronized their cork popping with the Twins late Monday night.
Angryclown sincerely wishes you luck, though you'll have to climb over two New York teams to bring home a trophy. And Angryclown just can't wrap his head around the astronomical odds against that happening.

King asked Rather who was going to win the Series.
Rather started doing the Braves' Tomahawk song.
Posted by: mitch at September 26, 2006 07:39 AMAngryclown, like you might, I suspect Mitch would have forgotten that memory had it been Ronald Reagan, but since it was someone he personally hates, he remembers.
Mitch, take this in the tongue-in-cheek tone intended, but your prolific-ism is really daunting here. Wow, you like it when the Twins are in the hunt.. gosh!
Perhaps next time you can write... I like it when I don't have to pay extra for Ketchup at Wendy's.
Eloquent as always.
I like it when I can look at some atheletes, no, not those who strut around talking only about themselves, but those who evince the visceral wholesomeness we all strive to see in life, personified in sport, and can say, "Son, if you strive to be as much as your talents allow and wonder what that can achieve, look at these boys, it can lead to things beyond your best dream."
I love it when there are teams that have made us feel as one. That have for a time, caused us to forget our petty bickerings, because their radiant joy was something we all wanted to wrap about us. We didn't grow jealous about whomever else happened to be swept up in that euphoric embrace, but instead we were glad to have them near, stranger or friend, just to enjoy the giddy school-boy sense of fun that welled up in our veins.
But mostly, I enjoy the fall, and baseball, because the crack of the bat, with people who clearly are not playing for anything other than the joy of playing a boy's game, brings an equal sense of respect, and awe, at the grace, grit, and guile. It's fun without borders, without hype, without invective, and it lets me forget the world for a time.
It's honest, it's sport, it's life.
Blog on Mitch, someone has to spend their time idely, I think I'll watch the game instead.
Posted by: ted at September 26, 2006 07:28 PMEnter ted, spouting some inane blather about nothing and then leaving.
Posted by: Ryan at September 26, 2006 08:55 PMLet us know if you have something to say, ted. That was almost worthy of angryclown.
I like it when people read, and post to (!) blogs that they contend are written by those, supposedly unlike themselves, who have time to spend time idly. Unintended irony is often quite amusing.
Posted by: Will Allen at September 26, 2006 10:54 PMWhen I read pb...er, I mean...Ted's post, I recall the line uttered by character Lloyd Christmas in the movie "Dumb & Dumber."
"Maaaan. You are one pathetic loser."
Posted by: Lloyd at September 26, 2006 11:08 PMMuch in Lloyd's line of thought, and being the father of a toddler and a small child, the first line that popped into my head was from a movie I am VERY familiar with: Toy Story.
Buzz: "You are a sad, strange little man, and you have my pity."
