Conundrum

As a straight male, I broadly disapprove of (and am bored stiff by) figure skating. Its various judging scandals confirm the impression that it's not a sport, and barely an art form, but more a form of diplomacy.

And skaters - locally as well as on the international level - are dysfunctional prima-donnas at a level that'd make gymnasts and rappers thankful for the comparison.

However - as a matter of principle - I find that I must approve of Sasha Cohen on many, many levels.

Last night, her post skate interview is the first time I've heard her voice. It shocked me that she was an alto, her face and body build would have led me to think she would have had a high squeaky voice like Kerri Struggs. Remember her? the girl who helped pull the US women's gymnastics team to gold while slightly injuring her foot on her first vault, and finishing the job on her second, but resisting the pain long enough to do her final tada motions to the judges then falling over.

I saw her on "Project Runway" a few months back.

OMG. Hot.

And the voice is a big part of it.

As I opined over at KAR, Sasha would be infinitely hotter if she adopted the last name of her rival, Slutskaya. Sasha Slutskaya. Man, that would be the WHOLE package.

Somehow Witt transitioned from hot to tart to ... well, I'm not really sure.

Sasha Cohen has yet to do that.

And blistering hot.

That whole "Leg up over the head while skating" thing? Oh, yeah. Blisteringly hot.

That must be one of the levels on which Mitch approves.
