Gail Rosenblum on the "Sex And So Much More" shindig at the convention center:
A lot of skin. A lot of hooting. But they promised educational and erotic. Eroticism is subtle. This was a freight train. I think a lot of local businesses on the tamer end stayed away, unsure of what the heck this was. So what you had were the usual suspects. Adult video and toy stores mostly. One of the signs said, "Spank Me," and I wanted to shout: "I'd like to!"I'm not sure what astounds me the most; that the Strib is covering what is basically a mid-level trade show (What next - a reporter covering the Pampered Chef convention?) or that the Strib employs Gail Rosenblum as a full-time "relationship reporter".Pity low-key sexuality educator Candy Hadsall. She was trying to hold a seminar on couples' intimacy and love, but she was drowned out by announcements for the "Fake Orgasm Contest."
Because that's got to be a fun beat to explain on one's resume. Although having this in one's clip file...:
One of the signs said, "Spank Me," and I wanted to shout: "I'd like to!"...would have to present problems of its own... Posted by Mitch at November 19, 2005 10:37 AM | TrackBack
I'm sure that Tom Prichard's MFC action alerts helped make this convention profitable. I've heard that sex stores do a brisk business when "Promise Keepers" conventions are in town.
Did you notice that the Republican Party is taking a page from the Dump Bachmann book?

Posted by: Eva Young at November 20, 2005 06:59 PMEva, I looked over the link to the site. I didn't see any comment sections copied and pasted in their entirety; I saw no puerile photoshopping; I didn't see a single hallucination presented as fact, no out-of-context flights of assumptive fancy, no childish name-calling.
What exactly is the "Unhatched" site supposedly copying from you?
Oh, wait - you think you invented the attack blog?
Your imagination is as robust as your ethics are weak.
Posted by: mitch at November 21, 2005 11:08 AMOh, yeah:
"I've heard that sex stores do a brisk business when "Promise Keepers" conventions are in town."
And while I'm *sure* you heard that from a perfectly credible source...so what? Conservative Christians aren't supposed to get busy?
Pritchard has every right to protest the show - and what's the problem if conservative Christians like to get the freak on?
Other than violating your one-dimensional, cartoon-like prejudices, I mean...
