That Darn Bush Economy, Part XV

Unemployment in Minnesota at post-9/11 low:

Minnesota's unemployment rate in June dropped to its lowest level in more than four years, the state Department of Employment and Economic Development said Tuesday.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 3.7 percent was the lowest since March 2001, and down from 4.3 percent during May. The national unemployment rate in June was 5 percent.
Oh, and as far as the Pawlenty Administration's mangling of the public sector goes (emphasis added)...:
The biggest gains were in government and professional and business services
Snarking would be ungracious.

/start of b.s.

But what about the symbolism of using high income taxes to soak the "stinking rich?" Who cares about higher revenues from a better economy, and more jobs? How's that going to help elect more Democrats? It's so unfair that talented productive people make more money. It's un-American.

So the fact that it took $2.2 trillion in federal debt to get us to the same place we were already at in March, 2001 is somehow supposed to be proof of great policy decisions? Interesting.

Amnesia?

4 years of bad policy ....or.....

Maybe... a freaking attack on NYC and DC requiring some extraordinary spending to shore up critical vulnerabilities combined with offensive operations to take the initiative away from the enemy?

We both know that the large majority of the added debt did not go to the things you mention.
