DFL Legislative Deadbeats: Caption Contest!

My ideas:

"The DFL walk off the job - leaving nothing but a trail of metaphors!"

"How about Momma puts out the cigarette and holds the sign herself?"

Discuss.

That's a sign you need when your mommy is "working."

Posted by: RBMN at July 1, 2005 09:38 AM

Original version: "Willing to steal from YOUR wallet, for a "Better" Minnesota and a bigger paycheck for my Momma"

Posted by: Dave at July 1, 2005 09:51 AM

Better: "2 Billion Dollars in INCREASED spending is a CUT!"

Posted by: Dave at July 1, 2005 09:53 AM

"My legislators squandered billions of tax dollars and all I got was this lousy sign".

Posted by: Just Me at July 1, 2005 10:15 AM

"My daddy is a photographer for the Minneapolis Star Tribune."

"Please let my momma work! Legalize prostitution!"

"Please let my MoMA work. Fund the arts!"

"Please let my momma work - I need new pants"

Please let my momma work - she's a DFL Senator!

Was it really that cold in the Cities today (that a person needs a blanket wrapped around then?!).

"Let my momma work! Right now she sits around in her underwear all day, chain smoking and pretending to be a 'journalist' because she runs a half-assed righty blog!"

Impressive display of "compassionate conservatism" and "values" here. Thanks, Mitch, for letting the cretins on the right display how vile they can be.

Liberty:

"My momma's boyfriend is a crank whose idea of a good time is leaving anonymous comments on blogs! She's stuck with all the bills, and he eats us out of house and home! Please help!"

Jeff S.,

Bullshit. The "momma" involved is exploiting her child, and the local media in their desperate attempt to gin up any interest in the "Shutdown" at all, are exploiting her too.

The best defense against such cynicism - or at least the only one at my disposal - is satire.

I've been genuinely out of work, genuinely dirt-poor. Don't even try to find a compassion gap with me. You'll lose big.
