Rutger Hauer, Call Your Agent

Sunday's murder in Mound (a western 'burb of Minneapolis) is a tragedy, and nothing to joke about. The shooting - possibly sparked by a wife's affair, allegedly carried out by a guy with serious anger issues - has put Jeffrey Skelton of Mound in jail on second (and, after the grand jury meets, possibly first) degree murder charges.

So I'm not joking. Just saying look at the picture of the alledged shooter, and tell me that when the screen rights are sold, Rutger Hauer isn't on the inside track for the part.

There's also a warning to any of you people with cheatin' hearts out there; be careful, with emphasis added:

When police arrived about 8:15 a.m., they found Michael Delmore, 53, dead on the kitchen floor. He was shot five times: in the eye, groin and foot and twice in the chest.
Moral of the story; alleged killers are one thing; alleged very, very thorough killers are another whole ball game.

The other lesson is clear: Mound is a quagmire, and the US needs to have an exit strategy.

I hate to say it, but Skelton's mug shot resembles Don Shelby - and you've got the answer to "why did he call 'CCO radio?"

Gee...thanks...are you using coarse grain salt today or just plain old table salt?

Tough story. Plenty of blame to go around.

I feel sorry for the dead guy's family. Tough to lose a son/brother/father that way.

I feel sorry for the alleged shooter's family. Tough for a 15-year old girl to see her dad accused of something that could send him away long enough to miss her graduation, miss walking her down the aisle, miss his grandson's birth.

All that aside, I'm always morbidly interested in the gun. Rifle? Pistol? Permit to carry? Recent acquisition?

We learned a lot about carry permits from the Strib's one-sided reporting of the recent bouncer shooting. Nothing about permits mentioned in the other 20 Minneapolis murders so far this year. Frustrating. You'd think that with all this Wild West Shoot-em-up going on, the question of whether carry permit holders or non-permit holders are the menace would be of public interest.

I grew up in the same neighborhood Jeff Skelton grew up in. We had a fort at one time in his back yard. He was a cool kid in school, I never thought he would do this. Although I remember one time his older brother beat up his dad, so I guess that maybe violence runs in the family????

There are no words horrible enough to describe Skelton. All I have to say is that he needs to sit in jail for the rest of his life. Forget your family, buddy. You're going to have a new wife: your cell mate. I'm sure you'll pleasure each other nicely for the rest of your sick lives. And in all honesty, if he killed himself, he would do everybody a huge favor. People would be happy to supply the weapon! As far as justice goes on earth, we'll see in the following months. At least we can rest assured that he will DEFINITELY seek justice after he's dead.

I am a family member of Mike Delmore and would hope that all of you remember that someone has lost a precious life and please dont refer to him as "the dead guy." Damn, have some respect!
