The Excrescence Strikes Back

It's worse than I thought, according to Rocketman:

Now the Republicans are treating the execrable Robert Byrd like a hero! Unbelievable. What a low moment. "We have kept the Republic," Byrd says. I think I'm going to be sick.

This keeps getting worse.

Aren't you overreacting a bit?

Are you aware that more than half of your fellow Americans disagree with you? You're lucky you got this much. Could have been much worse.

You could have ended up with a stalemate or a revolution. We have a right to resist your tyranny.

Blogesota, if you are referring to polls that say Americans are not for ending the filibuster, you can bet the questions were asked in a manner than garantees the answer they wanted.

It's not a question of whether or not the majority of American support the filibuster or not, really- after all, keeping the filibuster is about keeping minority rights intact. How can you not agree that "We have kept the Republic," by ensuring that the minority view will always be protected, that the American Senate will never resort to a tyrannical and partisan destruction of the political process?
