Via Red and Beth, I took this quiz on...worldview, I think.
You scored as Cultural Creative. Cultural Creatives are probably the newest group to enter this realm. You are a modern thinker who tends to shy away from organized religion but still feels as if there is something greater than ourselves. You are very spiritual, even if you are not religious. Life has a meaning outside of the rational.

Not sure that I buy it - I don't shy away from organized religion in the least, and in fact I embrace it (although frequently quarrel with its organizers).
It's better than most online tests, anyway.

Existentialist - 100%, Materialist - 81%, and the rest are probably predictable from those. Reasonable, I suppose.
ps. I'd take your comment, "It's better than most online tests, anyway.", as empirical evidence of the truth of Sturgeon's Law. Too many of the questions asked me to agree with or disagree with positions that I found internally contradictory. That is, to which I agreed with strongly in part and disagreed with strongly in part. A middle ranking, indicating that I neither agreed nor disagreed, was my choice for answering, but I could as easily have disagreed strongly or agreed strongly, depending on my mood. As I see it, this makes the result rather more random than not.
Posted by: Doug Sundseth at May 18, 2005 02:34 PMI took this one yesterday, if I recall correctly got around 98% existentialist, 90% materialist. Some of the questions were impossible for me to answer, either presenting false dichotomies or poorly worded so as to be ambiguous. I tried to suss out what the author meant to say and went with that...
If anything, I'm not surprised that my numbers are wildly different from you Mitch. We seem to have quite different ways of thinking about the world.
Posted by: Jeff S. at May 18, 2005 04:59 PMFeh, I took the quiz twice in a row. The first time I came out as Modernist 63%, and Fundamentalist 56%. The second time I came out as Cultural Creative 67%, and Fundamentalist 53%, and Modernist 6%. I too can't make heads or tails of some of the questions presented here. I well take note of the fact that Fundamentalist came in second both times though. I suspect that bit is in fact correct.
Posted by: Hal Duston at May 18, 2005 05:16 PMI feel iffy about the survey, so much of it is based on how the question is asked and a slight rewording would likely give divergent results.
Kinda similar to Mitch (except for Existentialism). Scary.
