Trunk for SCOM

Fraters Libertas has chosen the eleventh minute of the eleventh hour to launch a quixotic, but excellent, Minnesota Supreme Court bid.

In Minnesota, the Supreme Court is elected. Three of the slots are up for election this term, although only one is contested.

For the other two positions on this generally liberal court, the Elder has the right idea:

But what of the other two uncontested races? Often times voters like to have some fun with these contests and write-in the names of their favorite cartoon character or pet. But this year we want to offer a better write-in solution.

He's a blogger. He's a lawyer. And he's just the man to brutalize our criminals. Ladies and gentleman, your only choice for judicial write-in candidate for 2004 is...

...Scott Johnson from Power Line. He's got the name. He's got the know how. And in your hearts you know that he's got the 'nads for the job. Fraters Libertas encourages all right minded Minnesota voters to write-in Scott "The Big Trunk" Johnson in all unopposed judicial races.

I'm in.

Write in Johnson for the SCOM tomorrow. Minnesota will thank you.

Okay, this is Minnesota here. We have bunches of "Johnsons" around, and I'm sure there are quite a few "Scott Johnson" among them.

How would we signify the exact "Scott Johnson" of Powerline fame is the Scott Johnson we want?

I absolutely will write his name in, because otherwise my strategy for voting with judges is to vote against all incumbents across the board, unless I know something about the judge. Every damn one. I know at least a good deal about the Powerline guys, and I like 'em, so I will write his name in.

Hey Mitch, you should call Hugh to push this idea and get it some airplay!

Can't imagine there'd be another Scott "The Big Trunk" Johnson out there.

Dang, I voted absentee last Tuesday and wrote my own name in to run against all of the opposed judges. Too bad Scott didn’t say anything sooner as I’m already asked my 1L class and my co-workers to vote for me ;)

Trunk, Trunk he's our man. If he can't do it, no one can... Goooooo Trunk.

Wrote him in at 12:17pm for all three positions.
