Slippery Weasel vs. Lying Weasel

The difference:

  • Saying "I have a plan..." when you don't have one makes you a slippery weasel.
  • Saying "My opponent has a plan..." when he doesn't have one - say, to implement a draft - makes you a Lying Weasel.

In case you had not noticed, Kerry today is talking about Bush's "secret plan" to privatize social security.

In fairness to Mitch, Kerry invents "secret plans" for Bush so fast there just might BE a new "secret draft plan".

Is anybody in the U.S. of A. actually BUYING the "secret plan" crap anymore?

To be fair, I suspect Kerry actually *does* have the plans he claims, but thinks it's wiser to keep them secret lest he have to defend them.

Not a brilliant move, but that's what I think.

I'm not sure how many people buy it, but it looks like 40 something percent don't care enough to not vote for him. We'll see on election day though. I've been predicting a Bush landslide since February as a first test of my budding punditry skills.
