"Media Matters" (oh, *there's* a credible source for ya) doesn't report that it didn't happen (you *did* read the articles you linked, didn't you?); merely that there are "inconsistencies" in the story...
...which, when you're talking about eyewitness accounts, is the rule rather than the exception.
And you know what? Anytime ANYONE uses "oreo" to refer to a black conservative, it's just as scummy and morally bereft as throwing a cookie, anyway.
And excusing it - the action AND the attitude - is the mark of a modern-day Uncle Tom.
Using the terms "Oreo" and "Uncle Tom" are offensive, Mitch. I never said otherwise. But the Steele incident never happened.
Incidentally, I'm rather less sympathetic to the DSCC pulling his credit record, especially since Steele has said enough dumb stuff over the years that they shouldn't have to stoop to that. Heck, I'll go so far as to condemn it.
Just as I condemn what's happening to Ellison.

"But the Steele incident never happened."
Um, even your articles leave that question VERY wide open. And Maryland Democrats *are* calling Steele an Oreo. There is NO question about that.
But since you bring it up - what's "happening to" Ellison?
Yeah right...that's why "Charles" cried like a little girl after I finished "smacking" him down...that's why they had to hide my responses, because they chewed me up so bad..Bwahahaha!
It was a picture perfect scalping by yours truly...you should'a been there.
Or, you know, it never happened at all...

Posted by: mitch at September 20, 2006 07:53 AMHeh. Mitch, the pelts of the two lefty goofballs that live at "Mercury Rising" now reside on my sidebar trophy case...

From my comments:
Calling Jeff Feck! Calling Jeff Feck!
Keith [Ellison] needs two words to explain this:

Better leave "He misunderstood" at home...I suggest you bring "Oh shit" (or maybe "I'm sorry").
Posted by: swiftee at September 20, 2006 09:53 AMThat's pretty funny Swiftee considering Mercury Rising chewed you up and spit out your bones.

Oh, Doug. I bet you say that about ALL the delusional, giggly, BDS-stricken sinistrians.

I guess we all know what word is on Mitch's "Word of the Day" desk calendar for September 20th, 2006.
