I Know Stuff

Among the stuff I know is the very, very basics of investigative journalism.

So I was down at the Ramsey County Registry of Deeds the other day, looking for a lead - any lead - for a story I'm trying to figure out.

After hours of looking, though I asked the lady at the desk. And she told me - unaccountably - that the Registry of Deeds doesn't record Faustian Contracts (and that "eternal souls" are not considered legal tender for contractual purposes).

So I regret to report that I still have no idea how "Sterling" got a daytime job at KSTP.

But I'll keep working on it.

Is this the same guy who used to work at WTVN in Columbus and WLW in Cincy?

Mebbe there's two of them?

Jackscrow,

I think you're right. Sterling worked with KSTP program director Steve Konrad in Columbus, OH. That's what I know for sure.

He comes across as kinda the "smart-alec kid" type, and he is not very political (although like most of the CC talkies, uses politics or some polarizing news item during the "churn" or "chum" intro, just to get the natives restless).

I got the idea that once you got past the sarcasm, he was pretty bright, but one of the reasons he did not succeed in Cowtown, was that he came across as too young and not "huggable".

I kinda liked him. He seemed to make fun of both liberals AND conservatives in a world-weary sort of way.

No where near as good as Kurt Boster, though. Kurt got fired for being too funny and making fun of big, bad CC on their own station.

Yep. It's him. He's sounding a little more laid-back conservative mainstream. Must be adapting.
