Ellison Akbar!

Keith Ellison - supporter of cop-killers, unapologetic Kathleen Soliah fan, and a person whose past includes episodes that, if mirrored to a candidate on the right, would have provoked a media frenzy - wins the MN CD5 primary:

"Let's be honest, we faced some tough days, but we never got negative," Ellison continued. "And we proved that you can win an election by going positive and staying positive. We know that negative campaigning has its effects, but it doesn't enhance our humanity, it does not build bridges, it builds walls."
Well, to be fair, it helps to be in a district where the DFL could nominate a set of wind-up chattering teeth and draw 60%...

Dear Santa:

Thanks again for Keith Ellison. For the first time in decades, the GOP has a ligit shot at CD5. You're the greatest, Santa!

Tim O'Brien is going to be so up in your grill about that post title.

Sorry Dave but the voting records for this district show the Green Party getting more votes than a Republican. I live in CD5, you have no idea how much they hate Republicans.

The only bright spot is that this moron will now be the national face of the MN DFL.

"For the first time in decades, the GOP has a ligit shot at CD5"

I wish. It's scary seeing how many Ann Rest, Ember! , Hatch, Erlandson, Sandra Peterson, etc. lawn signs there are in my neck of the woods. I have only seen 3 or 4 houses with any (R) candidates (2 of which have Derek Brigham signs), and not a single Jeffers sign. Like Mitch said, a set of chattering teeth with a DFL endorsement can take 60% of the vote here. How else could you explain Ann Rest?

Posted by: Bill C at September 13, 2006 10:37 AM

"RoP building minerets soon to come in Minneapols with the bloody speakers blasting ass-to-heavenway 5 times a day.

Can it get better with the Calypso Louie candidate in the DFL drivers seat?"

Normally I agree wholeheartedly with your comments (and internally applaud most of them)...

But what in the hell did you eat for breakfast this morning? This sounds like C.S. Lewis on a bad acid trip.

Posted by: Bill C at September 13, 2006 10:40 AM

O' the city of grain and industry crabwalks to Mecca.....

The personification and embodiment of DFL insanity in one little packet....should give us 30 years of entertainment in the "safe" DFL seat that Herr Sabo goes floating way from.

C.S. Lewis could not dream of the slide into oblivion that moonbats of Minneapolis and soon Saint Paul will smoking, no business, no property values, lotsa drugs and gangs and probably a foreign policy that embraces the tender mercies of that far east and its folkish peoples.

Posted by: Greg at September 13, 2006 11:06 AM

The minaret is no pipe dream. They are building one in North Minneapolis next to a mosque that is already there. I thought that is what was being referred to.

The repubs may poll better in the 5th than they have in forever but not win. Tammy Lee will pick up more dissaffected Dems than Fine. I agree, most anti- ellison dems in the 5th would rather vote for an independence party candidate who is a former democrat who worked for Skip Humphrey and a soccer mom type to boot. What she doesn't have is $$ but that could change now.

Posted by: Margaret at September 13, 2006 11:34 AM

Had no idea they were even building a minaret in Minneapolis, Margaret. I was waxing poetic about some future time. Not even my mockery can keep up with reality!!!

Posted by: Greg at September 13, 2006 12:01 PM

After re-reading (and googling 'minaret'), I understand what you are saying.

I hope to God (not Allah) that if they plan on "blasting ass to heavenways 5 times a day" they get nailed with complaints of public disturbance.

Of course, the boy mayor would probably let them continue and ignore the complaints.

Posted by: Bill C at September 13, 2006 01:43 PM

Yes, Bill C., the Boy Mayor is too involved in growing alfalfa on top on civic structures and reweaving Washington Avenue.....mere siren calls to the faithful will not even phase the poor boob....probably give him an honorary rug to show is ass heavenward, too (i.e. we like you and will kill you last, kaffir!).

Seeing the next congressman from soon to be Mecca on the Mississippi is a former or maybe still disciple of Louie Farrakan and that lovable mob that hates Jewish people, whites, can it be long before we look like Dearborn?

Posted by: Greg at September 13, 2006 02:55 PM

How ironic, first Mitch's post, which i largely agree with, stated this, "The fact that we "love one another" enough to have built a democracy in which Germans and French, Poles and Jews, Christians and Moslems not only co-exist but maintain a civil democracy is both a sign of our wisdom - greater in its way than that of any other nation on earth - and the part about us that the attackers (who remain unnamed throughout the speech) do in fact hate."

Then we get the ramblings from Greg & Bill C who included such nuggets as, "bloody speakers blasting ass-to-heavenway 5 times a day," and "Mecca on the Mississippi."

What makes you guys so scared of Islam?

Posted by: Fulcrum at September 13, 2006 03:11 PM

What makes you guys so scared of Islam?

>>>It's use as a Nazi-like terror instrument masquerading as a religion is the reason, Fulcrum or what was 9/11 all about?>>Did they come as emissaries of peace and brotherhood, no they came as mass murderers>>That is why it has to be watched and throttled if save the planet and to save humanity<<<<

Posted by: Greg at September 13, 2006 03:25 PM

Greg your ignorance is overwhelming...because of a group of people who use and distort Islam, you condemn its 1,000,000,000 followers? Because of the Crusades, do you also feel the same way about Christianity?

Posted by: Fulcrum at September 13, 2006 03:41 PM

Fulcrum, Christianity had a reformation and got coopted after the whole 30 year war thing, and doesn't operate as a governing bodypolitic anymore. Islam hasn't quite made that jump. I do agree that I am more then a little revolted by the xenophobic comments. Live and let live, is the American way. But then I'm one of those "cold dead fingers" types.

Posted by: shawn at September 13, 2006 04:03 PM

"because of a group of people who use and distort Islam, you condemn its 1,000,000,000 followers?"

I question why no one among those 1,000,000,000 followers has loudly, publically condemned the "use and distortion" of Islam. Where are they? If "a group of people" is responsible for "slaying infidels wherever [they] find [them]", where's the outrage from the 1,000,000,000 followers?

If they have, I want to see names, dates, and links to those among the 1,000,000,000 followers that have condemned the actions of "a group of people."

Posted by: Paul at September 13, 2006 04:11 PM

Shawn i agree that the Crusades was not a great example...but i was just trying to make a point.

Paul: Check about every paper around the world on 9/12/01.

Posted by: Fulcrum at September 13, 2006 04:38 PM

Um...if I remember correctly, one of the great cries of the right that was ignored by the left and the MSM was the lack of Muslim clerics, and especially high stature Muslim leaders who spoke out against 9/11.

If Paul and I are still wrong, then you show us how wrong we are by providing verifiable references and links.

I've read that 10% of muslims support shari'a and jihad. If 10% of that 10% are willing to strap on a bomb, hijack an airplane, or kidnap and behead a civilian or a missionary trying to help, that's still 1.2-1.5 million people around the world who want to kill me, Greg, Paul, Mitch AND YOU, Fulcrum.

That is, unless you are willing to convert and bow in prayer to Mecca 5X daily.

I'm not.

Not every muslim is a terrorist, no. But almost every terrorist is a muslim. And when the western society as a whole is at stake against an enemy who is willing to die in their goal of conquest, I'd rather that battle happen outside of the US, not here.

Again, lots of leftists are lacking in their grasp of good vs evil.

Maybe i'm wrong. I doubt I am, but maybe I am. I'd still rather be wrong and save ourselves, our country, our society and our way of life, than YOU be wrong and....oops!

As a final note, in my post about hoping for public disturbance complaints, I should have clarified myself. I SHOULD have said "if their bloody speakers are blasting ass to heavenways". I don't care if they pray, I just don't want to hear that screeching sound calling for prayer 5 times a day.

As the ACLU loves to squawk about public displays of Christmas, "their right to freedome of religion does not trump my right to freedom FROM (their) religion"

Posted by: Bill C at September 13, 2006 05:23 PM

"Paul: Check about every paper around the world on 9/12/01."

Wrong answer, Fulcrum.

I see I was wrong to exoect so much as a single link of proof from someone who bit on the Joe Wilson/Valerie plame fairy tale hook, line and sinker.

Posted by: Paul at September 13, 2006 06:50 PM

Woo-hoo, Mitch fires the starter pistol and the hate-mongerers are off! Kind of an updated version of Python's "Upper Class Twit of the Year" sketch, except instead of slamming car doors we have the lovely Greg stumbling down Hennepin sputtering "SAND NIGGERS GO BACK TO MEXICO."

Posted by: Tim at September 13, 2006 10:05 PM

You people are all just afraid of the coming apocalypse. I would have thought you wingnuts would embrace it, after all, when a black, muslim, racist, terrorist-loving, cop killer defending, social1st wins mainstream DFL endorsement, it's the ultimate wetdream for a Minnesota Liberal.

Damn your Nazi spellchecker how does one spell soc1 alist?

Posted by: Angrykermit at September 13, 2006 10:57 PM

Perhaps some of you should get your story straight. If you're going to claim that Ellison is one of the large number of Muslims who are anti-jihad and anti-terrorist -- and there may be some millions of them across the world -- you'd better first explain why he's getting support from CAIR.

Does he actually have to get campaign contributions for Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Iranian government before the nature of his supporters gives you a clue?

Posted by: Joel Rosenberg at September 14, 2006 02:07 PM

No Joel, People with a brain see Keith for exactly what he is.
Then there's the DFL...

Posted by: Kermit at September 14, 2006 07:04 PM

Hey Tim, why don't you STFD and STFU.....or any you already sucking DFL appendages and Ellison is your path to getting whitey and the Jews finally....You proabably think Auschwitz was a great thing too.

You Liberal twits make me sick.

I am going to break Godwin's Law here but most Liberals are Nazis (that stands for NATIONAL SOCIAL-ISTS) in better suits.

Posted by: Greg at September 15, 2006 11:40 AM

I tend to be skepitcal of Wetern Muslims. Ironically they're the ones most violent/hostile to the West. And lately they have been very hostile towards us. Therefore I don't think we need to apologize for asking Ellison uncomfortable questions

But that was funny, Tim.

Posted by: Jacko at September 15, 2006 10:36 PM

Then that would make Ellison in CD5 similar to any nut-job right-wing whacko running in any campaign anywhere for any seat, as long as it's the republican primary, or any federal seat in the south, the non-pacific west, or CD6.

let's see, Michelle Bachmann spies on a rally from the bushes, but Ellison is the extremist because he once associated with NoI and he didn't think Kathrine Soliah's case deserved the press it got? How is that different from you all thinking Tom Delay's case was hyped? Or that Bob Ney's case was?

Double-standard, thy name is Madame Berg.

Posted by: ted at September 15, 2006 10:43 PM

I wonder what it takes to be classified as a "nut-job right-wing whacko" in Ted's estimation? Just having an "R" after your name? I'm solid right-wing but I don't think of men like Colin Peterson as a "left-wing commie atheist muslim-loving crazy" even though he does have a "D" after his name.

Ted, you're one lovely creature. And precisely why I loathe (most of) the left.

Posted by: colleen at September 16, 2006 01:35 PM

Don't feed the trolls, Colleen. "Ted" was no doubt masturbating frantically as he wrote that.
